Austin French – Freedom Hymn Lyrics
From the album Freedom Hymn (Single)
I push, I pull
Go back and forth finding myself pounding on a locked door
I try to make it out alone without your help
But I know I’ll never win this war
I can never be, never be, free without you
I can never be, never be, me without youThis is the sound of chains breaking
This is the beat of a heart changing
This is a song of a soul forgiven
This is my freedom hymn
This is my freedom hymn
This is my freedom hymnI breathe the air of freedom in knowing my life
Is better off in Your hands
The past is gone what’s done is done
Now I’m alive
I’m never gonna look back
I can never be, never be, free without you
I can never be, never be, me without youWho the Son sets
FREE
Is free indeedWho the Son sets
FREE
Is free indeed
Who the Son setsFREE
Is free
I’m free

Behind The Song: Austin French Shares The Heart Behind His Debut Single “Freedom Hymn”
This week’s featured song story comes to us from new artist Austin French. We’re excited to share with you the story behind his debut single “Freedom Hymn.”
God moved me and my family to Del Ray Beach, Florida. I didn’t know it, but that city is the recovery capital of the world, and that really changed my perspective on a lot of things. I learned really quickly that the recovery community is raw and real and you have to be ok with not being ok. But in that spot…that’s where people met Jesus. ‘Freedom Hymn’ is a song not just for the recovery community of Del Ray Beach. ‘Freedom Hymn’ is a song for the recovery community worldwide – the church. We’re all recovering from something and we all have a song to sing. John 8:36 says that ‘whoever the Son sets free is free indeed.’ That means we have a song to sing… we have a hymn to sing. We know what the sound of chains breaking in our life sounds like and we know the one who indeed sets us free. We have been set free by Jesus!” – Austin French
