Too Smart — Too Sophisticated to Believe in God?

The following post over at American Thinker starts off discussing the suicide of Anthony Bourdain, and shares a pertinent Bible verse.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) Bourdain was famous, and worth $16 million.

Kate Spade’s suicide happened shortly afterwards.  What would bring millionaires like this to such despair that they would take their own lives?

We found out that Robin Williams killed himself because of a disease he had and he didn’t want to be a burden to his family.

I’m no expert on why people commit suicide, but apparently there could be many reasons why people, unfortunately, follow through on it.

But this post isn’t only about that tragic state of affairs.  The next paragraph in Mr. Marcus’ post is the main reason I wanted to share it here.

Folks, we live is such an evil time that merely suggesting that people are better off with God in their lives is venomously attacked and branded fanatical religious hate speech. But I am going to go there anyway.

Have you noticed that oftentimes, evangelical Christians are being blamed on news programs for the election of Donald J. Trump?  Never mind those 30% (a diverse crowd, by the way) who had voted for Obama in the two previous presidential elections, but decided to vote for Trump over Clinton in 2016!

Below is the rest of Mr. Marcus’ essay.   His brilliant essay included many of the thoughts and conclusions that I have come to believe regarding the hatred being spewed here in America ever since the election of 2016.

 

Mr. Bourdain, and I suspect Ms. Spade, were leftists. Typically, leftists think themselves too smart -– too sophisticated to believe in God. Remember the closed-door fundraising event at which Obama demeaned fly-over-country voters for clinging to their guns and religion?

On the Christian-hating “View” TV show, Joy Behar called Vice President Pence “mentally ill” for saying he talks to Jesus. Historian David Barton documents how America was founded upon our Founders praying and receiving guidance from God.

In 1798, founding father John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” Today, Christian politicians are branded “dangerous” by leftist-dominated mainstream media.

The Democrat party hijacked by leftists removed God from their platform. When Democrats voted God back into their platform the convention floor erupted with angry boos. Can you imagine a political party so wicked that they boo God?

Leftists laugh at Christians. Leftists erroneously believe man is the ultimate power, capable of regulating equal outcomes. They foolishly believe man can save or destroy the planet. Michael Crichton brilliantly articulates leftist folly in his novel Jurassic Park. Believing themselves to be wiser than God, leftists always fight to change God’s original intent regarding biology, marriage, and gender.

This scripture nails the leftist mindset. “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” (Romans 1:22) Folks, we witness their foolishness every day. They say that if a man awakes feeling like a woman that day, he should be legally permitted to use public women restrooms. They say that teachers addressing students as boys and girls is hateful and exclusive and must not be tolerated. They say four-year-olds must be introduced to homosexuality and taught “gay love is beautiful”.

For eight years Obama forced anti-God extreme liberal foolishness down the throats of mainstream commonsense thinking Americans. Thank God Trump is rolling back Obama’s war on Christianity, restoring our constitutional religious liberty.

Obama was the left’s dream president. He aggressively stripped the God of Christianity from our government. Obama chastised Christians at the National Prayer Breakfast. He relentlessly tried to bully the one-hundred-year-old Little Sisters of the Poor into funding abortion services, an anathema against their religious convictions. Obama enthusiastically honored homosexuals, Black Lives Matter, and Muslims with celebrations at the White House while turning away the National Day of Prayer. Obama was the most biblically-hostile president in U.S. history.

Disney’s movie, A Wrinkle in Time, starring Oprah Winfrey struggled at the box office. Perhaps the reason is leftist producers stripped Bible quotes, a reference to Jesus and historical Christian figures from the movie adaptation of the beloved children’s book.

While threatening to jail anyone disrespectful of Islam, leftists boldly display disdain for Christianity. They hate Jesus for saying, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

How dare Jesus declare himself the only way to heaven. Liberal media goddess Oprah has decreed that Jesus is not the only way to God. Oprah foolishly professes herself to be wise, too enlightened to believe Jesus Christ is the only path to God.

The gangster movie Scarface has a strong biblical message. Drug lord Tony Montana had everything he thought would bring him happiness; power, a mountain of cocaine, extreme wealth, and beautiful women at his command. And yet, Tony was miserable. All Tony’s stuff could not fill that spiritual void inside which produces peace, happiness, and a fulfilled life.

Sadly, Mr. Bourdain’s and Ms. Spade’s extreme wealth, power, and fame failed to produce inner peace and happiness. Both are unfortunate casualties of leftist mindsets, too smart and too sophisticated to humbly trust in the God of Christianity.

Personal story.

A few days ago, I got into a conversation with someone with whom I have known for a long time.  She appeared to be conservative, and has claimed that she is a Christian.  Some tough situations within her family life had caused great pain and sorrow.  During our subsequent discussions, she rarely mentioned anything about her faith anymore.

I have been trying to avoid getting into left vs. right arguments with people who dislike President Trump.  However, in this case I realized that this particular woman did not know basic facts about the last election or the vitriol that followed and has been ratcheted up over the last 20 months.

She objected to Trump winning, despite the popular vote that Hillary ended up with on election day.  I explained to her why the Founders decided to utilize the Electoral College method when electing the president.  She truly did not understand it until I had explained it.

During our conversation, she indicated that she personally dislikes Trump.  I agreed that he isn’t the typical, smooth politician and that he has said some regrettable things.  However, despite his personal failings,  I shared several of the many accomplishments of his administration and she agreed that he is doing a good job of turning this nation around.

I mention this because of the above article written by Lloyd Marcus.  People, Mr. Marcus completely NAILED IT in regards to the void of proper discussions going on today.  Instead, it’s only hatred, meanness, derision, mocking, threatening, and dangerous vitriol that is constantly being spewed by radical leftists.  Many, apparently, cannot even fathom having a decent conversation with those on the right or those who support President Trump.

Obama was their “prized” president.  He espoused most of everything on the leftist side of the political spectrum that they believe in.  But, even when he didn’t like some of the policies that came about, they forgave him (or ignored the issue) because of their love and agreement of this man’s political ideology.  They had the mentality that Obama “could do nothing wrong” and the media of mass deception kept that image alive by oftentimes not reporting the truth.

Now, because President Trump is mostly the complete opposite of Obama, the leftists have, and continue to be, losing their collective minds.  The media and celebrity negative rancor dominates 95% of the news broadcasts; oftentimes completely ignoring all of the great accomplishments that President Trump has done for our nation, economy, and people.

It’s truly sad that so many people do not allow those with opposing views a voice on news programs.  They ignore the other side in their conversations.  More distressing, is that when they report, they can’t seem to do it without being hostile, nasty or even downright hate-filled and dangerous!

Rush: Liberals see right wing as bigger threat than Islam.

WND has an article up today where radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh makes the claim that conservatives are a bigger threat to liberals than Islam.

It’s us, folks. This is the thing that a lot of people can’t get through their heads. We had 9/11. We had Fort Hood. Do you have Obama condemning it? Obama will not condemn it.”

Limbaugh went on to say that Europe is importing its own destruction, given that Islamic radicals have vowed to use Western freedom as a tool to bring about its destruction. The host said the cultural transformations happening in Europe give Americans a glimpse into their own future unless they act now.

“For some reason, Obama and his crew do not look at Islam as a threat to their power. Terrorism is a threat to their power, but they see that in us. We are a threat to their power – and we are. We’re trying to take it away from them. We’re trying to beat them in elections. That’s not allowed. That will not happen. We pose too big a threat to them. They could peacefully co-exist with all these other people. They’re on the same place in the political prism. They’re both out there on the left. Both have the same common enemy: The United States, Great Satan.”

Limbaugh said liberals find America an unjust and immoral place because its founding included slavery, while Islamic terrorists come to the same conclusion because the U.S. is populated with infidels.

“You listen to the ex-president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and you couldn’t tell the difference in what he says about America than Joe Biden on the campaign trail, or Obama,” said Limbaugh.

“They talk about this country in identical ways. They talk about Republicans in identical ways. We are their biggest threat, making us their central enemy. The American left, Democratic Party, and liberalism worldwide, its enemy is conservatism. Conservatism, if ever it succeeded – really succeeded – would vastly shrink the source of power, wealth and existence for all these people, and that is government.”

I found the following photo back in 2010 which was taken during an anti-Israel march in San Fransicko.

Notice what is in the photo below.  The man holding the sign is wearing Muslim terrorist garb.  The man walking next to him is wearing a commie red t-shirt with the image of Che Guevara!

How ironic that the Muslim man is holding that sign (below)!  Here’s a quote from Che Guevara that may explain their union of nefarious ideologies:

The following is an excerpt from my former Talk Wisdom blog essay entitled, Why The Unholy Alliance of Islam and Communism? Taqiyya?

What those two men (seen in photo below, marching together, BTW, in an anti-Israel demonstration during the Bush presidential years) represent is the forming of an alliance between radical Islam and Communism!  Also, notice what the sign says:  “Thank You S.F. (San Francisco) Liberals – You Die Last.”  How ANYONE could possibly support either group is beyond any semblance of reason!  Liberals are being USED by both!  Yet they are either complicit in either ideology or just too damn ignorant to realize it!

I thought that the evil alliance of radical Islam and Communism (Putin and his ilk) would one day need to battle against each other for dominance of the world. This may still happen. Perhaps the caliphate-hungry Iran is using Communist Putin in the usual Muslim deceptive tactics known as al Taqiyya?  Muslims might join together and tolerate Communists in an old taqiyya-style kind of temporary alliance.  Why?  Because of their joined hatred of Israel!  They are uniting with the intended plan of making a future collaborated attempt at destroying Israel!

But then, which one [Islam or Communism] will ultimately win out?

My blogging friend J over at The Oil For Your Lamp has an excellent post up entitled “SPIRITUAL LESSONS FROM THE HEADLINES: Reason Behind Bill Maher’s Fear of Cruz Very Revealing.”

I saw this story today, and when I read it, I found that I better understand some of the the more troublesome aspects of the Old testament.  Bill Maher is famous for attacking God’s actions in the Old Testament.  He called God a ‘Psychotic Mass Murderer.’  Now, to be totally honest, I have never found a satisfactory response to the sort of attacks that Maher levels against God.  I reject them, but I have never been able to find a way to explain why they are wrong — until now.  After reading this story, not only do I have a satisfactory answer, I have that answer in the very person of the person making the attack — Bill Maher!

Wow!  Wonderful, wonderful post!
I didn’t watch the video (can’t stand Bill Maher!) but I do recall a Fox News reporter being released from his Islamic terrorist captors years ago – Steve Centani – who did exactly what Maher suggests and uttered those words in favor of the false and evil “god” of Islam.  The man sold his soul for his physical life, but if he never repents at the cross of Jesus Christ in this lifetime, then he will lose eternal life with God.

The words of Jesus in Matthew come to mind:

Mat 16:26

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Mar 8:36

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

I’m participating in Bible Study Fellowship this year and we are in the book of Revelation.  We learn that the unrepentant would rather have rocks fall on them and crush them to death rather than repenting of their sin to be saved!  The resistance towards salvation for their souls becomes stronger and stronger when they refuse to admit their sins, confess and repent at the foot of the cross of Christ, and ask for forgiveness.

It is interesting to note that the term salvation in Greek means:

“victory, wholeness, well being, and deliverance!”

Therefore, people like Maher reject the very provision that would give him all of these gifts from God!  Instead, he urges others to bow to a false god in order to lose their souls!  So sad, ignorant, dangerous, stupid, childish, demonic, dumb, disrespectful and hateful!  Leading people to hell via the public forum that Maher has is truly disturbing.

In our study on Revelation 8 this past week, one question in our homework asked what we learned from the lecture.  This is what I wrote:

“Our (my) choice in this life on earth is to either be deceived by the cunning counterfeiter Satan, or guided in the Truth by our Shepherd King – Jesus Christ!”

I love 2 Corinthians 4!  The entirety of the chapter speaks to this issue about Maher, especially these verses:

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

2Co 4:4

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

For years the former Marine combat veteran would walk alone to the 50-yard line and offer a prayer of thanksgiving and blessing after football games. He drew inspiration for his post-game prayers from “Facing the Giants”, a popular faith-based film. Over the years, players and coaches from both teams would join him — on their own volition. 

On Sept. 27th [Superintendent Aaron] Leavell fired off a letter to the coach warning him to cease and desist. 

“Your talks with students may not include religious expression, including prayer,” he wrote. “They must remain entirely secular in nature, so as to avoid alienation of any team member.”

In his most recent letter, Leveall said the school district would be glad to provide a place for Coach Joe to pray — so long as it was in private — “not observable to students or the public.”

“For example, a private location within the school building, athletic facility or press box could be made available to you for brief religious exercise before and after games,” Superintendent Leavell wrote. 

To be clear, Coach Joe is forbidden from bowing his head, taking a knee or doing anything that might remotely be construed as religious.

“While on duty for the District as an assistant coach, you may not engage in demonstrative religious activity, readily observable to (of not intended to be observed by) students and the attending public,” the superintendent added.

That means he’s not even allowed to bow his head behind the bleachers where the kids are smoking pot. 

Liberty Institute, the nation’s largest law firm specializing in religious liberty cases, is preparing to initiate legal proceedings against the school district — accusing them of religious discrimination.

“They’ve already punished Coach Joe by denying his request for religious accommodation,” attorney Hiram Sasser told me. “Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, they’ve already violated his civil rights.”

Superintendent Leavell stressed in his letter that the district does not prohibit prayer or other religious exercises by its employees.

“However, it must prohibit any conduct by employees that would serve as District endorsement of religion,” he said. 

Sasser said the district’s argument is outrageous. 

“What they are saying is he cannot pray by himself, he cannot simply take a knee at the 50-yard-line,” Sasser said. “That’s like telling a coach he can’t wear a yarmulke if he’s Jewish, he can’t wear a turban if he’s a Sikh, he can’t pray to Mecca if he’s a Muslim, he can’t wear a cross necklace if he’s a Christian.”

Late last week State Superintendent Randy Dorn released a statement backing the school district.

“It’s unfortunate when the actions of one employee affect an entire district,” Dorn said.

As if a football coach who prays for his team is doing engaged in some sort of criminal enterprise. 

Dorn went on to suggest that teachers like Coach Joe are not good role models. 

“School staff exercising their right to silently pray in private on their own is fine. But leading a prayer isn’t,” he said. “School officials are role models; leading a prayer might put a student in an awkward position, even if the prayer is voluntary. For students who don’t share the official’s faith, players, the official’s public expression of faith can seem exclusionary or even distressing.”

For the record, Coach Joe never invited anyone to pray with him — especially students. They chose to participate by their own free will. 

Sasser said the state superintendent does have a point – there are people in the state of Washington who feel disenfranchised — Christians.

“When they find out a coach can’t even silently pray at the 50-yard-line, there’s no greater message of hostility than that,” Sasser told me. “This is not a school being neutral. This is a school being hostile to religion – and we are going to hold them accountable.”

Provided Coach Joe still has a job on Friday night, he plans to do what he’s done after every other football game. 

“I’m going to keep on praying,” he said.

Good for this coach!  He is willing to STAND UP for his First Amendment rights which includes freedom of religion, freedom of association, and freedom of speech!

It’s “funny” [see above definitions] how individuals like Aaron Leavell, who is obviously an advocate for secularism, deems voluntary prayer by a coach, his team, and teammates from the opponents (no less!) as “exclusionary” and/or “distressing.”  Whether or not Aaron Leavell believes in prayer, it sure seems as though he thinks that prayer is powerful enough to cause the angst of non-believers  like him, and thus make a demand for its exclusion!

We Slide Toward Godlessness and Convince Ourselves We Have Been Liberated – D.A. Carson

While responding to a comment in my previous post, I did some research back at my former Talk Wisdom blog to show commenter GMPilot that I suspected, way back in January 2008,  that Obama was not a genuine, born-again believer in Jesus Christ. The reasons why I came to that conclusion are listed at that link.

Today, I wanted to highlight a comment that I made under that post. Seven years later, it has turned out to be almost prophetic as to why Obama would be a disastrous choice for POTUS!

Here is the comment, written back in January, 2008:

Ah! Now I see. It appears, from Obama’s own words, the he believes in “universalism.”

Quote:

Obama recently talked about his faith with the Concord, N.H., Monitor.

“I’ve always said that my faith informs my values, and in that sense it helps shape my worldview, and I don’t think anyone should be required to leave their religious sensibilities at the door,” Obama told the paper last week. “But we have to translate those concerns into a universal language that can be subject to argument and doesn’t turn into a contest of any one of us thinking that God is somehow on our side.”

The candidate told the Monitor he doesn’t buy everything his pastor proclaims, saying: “There are some things I agree with my pastor about, some things I disagree with him about. I come from a complex racial background with a lot of different strains in me: white, black, I grew up in Hawaii. I tend to have a strong streak of universalism, not just in my religious beliefs, but in my ethical and moral beliefs.”

To paraphrase former President Ronald Reagan’s words when speaking of communism:

“Open Theism, Universalism, Mormonism, Romanism, the Emergent Church, Jehovah Witnesses, Pragmatism, Syncretism, Word of Faith, New Perspective of Paul, Libertarian Free Will, Socinianism, the Social Gospel, and Sabellianism is foreign to heaven, where they’ve never had part in it; and is welcome in hell, where they’ve already got it.”

Yep…

Sure makes the connection between Obama’s obviously Marxist philosophy and his “faith.”

Wow! What a great description of liberalism, which often leads to licentiousness and all of the pitfalls and dangers that humanity ends up succumbing to as a result!!

P.S. Speaking of the “affects of liberalism,” perhaps this is what Obama means when he constantly (and, annoyingly) utilizes the term “change.”

Islam is a satanic, horrible, evil, and deadly religion.  Liberalism (progressivism etc.) is a mental disorder and those who adhere to it (knowingly, or unknowingly – by turning a blind eye to the facts!) can end up supporting Islam because they choose to ignore the taqiyya lies that drives radical Islamic terrorism that is spreading across the world.  At the same time, here at home they support  the radical homosexual agenda which is intent on destroying God’s idea for marriage and the family, as well as Bible based Christian beliefs and the churches that preach such truth.  [Please see John McArthur: We Will Not Bow.]

Trouble is, radical Islam wants to steal, kill, and destroy both liberals and homosexuals!  No group [for we are all “infidels”] escapes their evil – they also want to kill Jews and Christians!

The Homosexual Agenda is the Biggest Threat to the Right of Free Speech and Religious Liberty Today.

In my previous post, Where Sin Abounded, Grace Abounded Much More, a comment was posted by someone with the screen name of “Frannie.”

Just a note about “Frannie.” She (he? one never knows these days…) is one of the typical drive-by trolls who doesn’t engage in further conversation after she/he has posted her tiresome talking points.  This is very typical of liberal-leftist-progressives (more appropriately called programmed-regressives because a large portion of their ideology lines up with the old socialist/communist failed, evil and dangerous ideas of the past) and needs to be exposed!

My bet is that she/he never even returned to this blog to see my response. She/he may even be a paid operative by the 0bummer/Soros/Jarrett propagandists who are systematically trying to ruin our nation and are particularly hateful towards Christians and Jews.

This homosexual “marriage” issue has the most nefarious intentions. See this link because it is a good history lesson on how we got to where we are today regarding the fact that:

The explosion of government intrusion (regarding their support for all homosexual agenda groups and other anti-Christian radical groups) is one of the most pressing issues that is being used to silence churches.   As the website link states:

Pastors are being censored, the proclamation of God’s Truth is being blocked, and churches are being discriminated against and threatened with punishment.

Christians who think that they are being “non-judgmental,” “kind,” “considerate,” “welcoming,” “tolerant,” and “loving” for the homosexual agenda need to wake up! They are ignoring the reality of the fact that our current government (and the vicious activists behind it) are NOT interested in tolerating a diversity of opinions, but are actually using the government to punish fellow citizens who have different views.

Fortunately, this one-way street form of “tolerance” can be defeated when we stand firm in our convictions and fight against the liberal court decisions which can be overturned.

Look up Blaine Adamson’s case. This man was used to being approached by many groups to create messages in his print shop for various events. He has needed to turn down business when he was given offensive messages that he refused to print (which is his right as a businessman). When approached to print up shirts promoting an upcoming pride festival, he politely explained that he could not do it. He even offered to send the group to another printer who would be willing to print the shirts and match his price. But that wasn’t enough. The homosexual activists filed a complaint against him and the Human Rights Commission ruled that Blaine had engaged in illegal discrimination (so…what else is new?). The commission then ordered Blaine to attend a government-run re-education program (sounds like what the Nazis did in WWII !!!), and to print materials that promote messages that violate his conscience and deeply held convictions.

The good news is that the troubling ruling has been overturned through the work of Alliance Defending Freedom Legal Counsel, Jim Campbell, who argued the case. The decision affirms that “the government can’t force citizens to surrender free speech rights or religious freedom in order to run a small business.

This victory is an important first step in protecting the right of Christians in Kentucky, and everywhere, to live and work according to their faith.

 

This recent decision in Blaine Adamson’s case is an encouraging sign that our stand for religious freedom is paying off.

[Therefore] I have an idea.  I know that many of you out there run businesses that if a gay couple, a married gay couple came in and asked for your service, you would deny it on the basis that you disapprove, your religion does not sanction the approval of gay marriage.

My idea for you is quite simple.  Don’t use that as the excuse anymore.  Let’s say that you own the ABC wedding cake bakery.  The only thing you do is you bake wedding cakes.  And as such, militant gay activists target your bakery.  They’re gonna take you out, they’re gonna take you down, they’re gonna walk in there, they’re gonna tell you they’re gonna get married, and of all the bakeries in the world, yours has been recommended to them because that’s all you do, therefore you must be better than anybody else at baking wedding cakes.

Instead of telling the gay couple that you refuse to bake the cake for their wedding because you disapprove of homosexuality, you should now say you are not going to bake a cake for the gay wedding because you fear Muslim backlash. Or, due to your respect of Islam, you cannot bake a cake for a gay wedding.  See how that flies.  Since the left is agreeing, a bunch of people on the left have gone on TV, “I hate to say this, you know, Limbaugh’s got a point. We do flaunt gay marriage at ’em, wow.  Wow.  That’s a good point.  I mean, we readily agree not to do the thing with the prophet and the pictures and the cartoons, but gay marriage, yeah, we’re kind of in their face on that.”

Well, just make a note.  Any of you small business owners who think you’re gonna get a visit from a gay couple asking you for your product or service at a gay wedding just say, “Nah, nah, nah, we refuse because of our respect of Islam.  We can’t.”  Don’t say anything about your religion.  Don’t say anything about it’s your religion that prevents you from doing it.  Say it’s Islam.  You respect Islam or you’re afraid of Muslim backlash. See how that flies.  It’s just an idea.  Hope it works.

This is brilliant!  Since Islam is now a “politically correct” religion in the Obama Administration and in the media, why not invoke respect for Islam as the reason for not providing special services to “same-sex” weddings since such events are horribly offensive to Muslims?

The writer of that comment wants to “make God’s law American Law that makes homosexuality a capital offense.” Well, THAT will never happen.

So, what is the answer to the current dilemma of religious rights vs. homosexual activists demands to comply with their sinful agenda?

Maybe, for now, it might be to use the “offense to Muslims” argument? What are your thoughts on this?

If the Supreme Court rules to grant same-sex marriage as the law of the land (similar to how the horrendous 1973 abortion decision to allow the killing of unborn babies in the womb came down), how are Bible-based Christians supposed to stand up for their faith, keep their businesses, and keep from being fined out of house and home (or, even jailed!)  when they refuse to comply?

I pray that the SC decision does come forth to protect traditional, biblically based marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

No matter what direction the decision turns out to be, the gay Gestapo will stop at NOTHING to get their way.

Do You Not Judge What is Right?

There are individuals and groups that believe, “if you love me (us), then you will accept me (us) just as I (we) am (are).”  In the emotional sense of the word “love,” this is possible.  We can love people, although they sin.  We can forgive the wrongs that are done against us, because through His Son, Jesus Christ, God forgives us. God has loved us although, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

How do we gain forgiveness?

John the Baptist paved the way, and Jesus also told us what is needed.

John the Baptist:

Mat 3:1

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,

Mat 3:2

and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

Mat 3:3

For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make His paths straight.’ ” [fn]

Jesus:

Mat 4:17

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

What is genuine love?

Jhn 15:13

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

The Bible tells us what it is not.

In the spiritual sense of the word (and I am referring to Christian spiritual sense of the word and the meaning of the agape love of God) accepting someone’s sinful acts in a permanent way and not telling them the truth about their need for repentance of those sins will destine them towards separation from God forever.

This reiterates the points in John 7 where Jesus stated:

Jhn 7:7

“The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

When we agree with Jesus on this statement, and point out the acts of evil that have been done since the moment that the knowledge of good and evil came to be, the world will hate us.

Jhn 15:18

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.

Jhn 15:19

“If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

1Jo 3:13

Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

This is why, for example, those who point out sins like abortion or homosexuality are hated. Those who stay silent on such controversial issues or those who embrace such issues (e.g. leftist Christians) are not hated. They are called “loving,” “accepting,” “tolerant,” “unbiased;” whereas the Bible based Christians who take the words of Christ and the Scriptures seriously, are called the exact opposite!

So, we can see why Jesus gave us those warnings about being hated. Those who speak out against such sins and are not of the attitudes of this world (because the world would love its own) are hated.

Why?

Because the worldly people hated Him first.

Why?

Jhn 7:7

“The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

What’s more:

Act 10:42

“And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.

Thus, why would they not hate us as well?

My question.  Is it truly loving to not warn them about these facts?

There are many verses in the Bible describing the act of judging. Many leftists (even Christian leftists) hold onto the verses that state, “Do not judge.” But when you place those words into a search at Blue Letter Bible, you will find that this is not a blanket statement requiring Christians to never judge anything or anyone; but is in actuality an admonition to judge rightly!

Luk 12:57

“Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

Think about it! If we never judged anything, wouldn’t this world be in total and absolute chaos? As it is, those who do not judge rightly do cause much chaos around the world.

There are also those who may think that they judge rightly, when in actuality, they could just be guilty of misconstruing the intent of what is really being shared.

Allow me share a recent example.

Let’s Just Say a Couple’s Memorial Day Wedding Photo Didn’t Sit Well With Some People…

If you read through the comments, there are people judging this photo and having differing opinions about it.  That is certainly their right to do that, but even the title of the post is incorrect!  In the first place, the photo was shared on social media by the photographer – not the couple!  There are those who may think this photo of the couple praying together before their vows (while also desiring to keep from seeing each other before walking down the aisle to share their vows before God, family, and friends – which is a tradition followed by many couples) is somehow “distasteful” because they got married over the Memorial Day weekend.  Please note that they did not get married on Monday, the actual date of Memorial Day!

Of course, people can have their own opinions.  They can make judgments and they have their right to free speech about it.

So…is this an example of “right judging”?

Some readers may view this as a minor thing – and they are correct!  Will the opinions and judgments of the 800+ commenters on this particular subject matter throughout all eternity?

Let’s get back to what will matter throughout all eternity.

Within a commentary from Matthew Henry, we read:

But a wise man’s heart discerns time and judgment; such was the wisdom of the men of Issachar, who had understanding of the times, 1 Chr. 12:32. He adds, “Yea, and why even of yourselves, though ye had not these loud alarms given you, judge ye not what is right? v. 57.

[Christianity] has reason and natural conscience on its side; and, if men would allow themselves the liberty of judging what is right, they would soon find that all Christ’s precepts concerning all things are right, and that there is nothing more equitable in itself, nor better becoming us, than to submit to them and be ruled by them.

II. Let them hasten to make their peace with God in time, before it be too late, v. 58, 59. This we had upon another occasion, Mt. 5:25, 26.

1. We reckon it our wisdom in our temporal affairs to compound with those with whom we cannot contend, to agree with our adversary upon the best terms we can, before the equity be foreclosed, and we be left to the rigour of the law: “When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, to whom the appeal is made, and knowest that he has an advantage against thee, and thou art in danger of being cast, thou knowest it is the most prudent course to make the matter up between yourselves; as thou art in the way, give diligence to be delivered from him, to get a discharge, lest judgment be given, and execution awarded according to law.’ Wise men will not let their quarrels go to an extremity, but accommodate them in time.

Christ, to whom all judgment is committed, is the magistrate before whom we are hastening to appear: if we stand a trial before him, and insist upon our own justification, the cause will certainly go against us, the Judge will deliver us to the officer, the ministers of his justice, and we shall be cast into the prison of hell, and the debt will be exacted to the utmost; though we cannot make a full satisfaction for it, it will be continually demanded, till the last mite be paid, which will not be to all eternity.

Christ’s sufferings were short, yet the value of them made them fully satisfactory. In the sufferings of damned sinners what is wanting in value must be made up in an endless duration. Christians Displayed as Domestic Terrorists if We Take the Bible too Seriously?

I often wonder why 0zero never chooses to call the mass killings of Christians that are  happening in the Middle East and North Africa what they are – Christian massacres.

I read somewhere online that people were alarmed because on the 100th anniversary of the slaughter,  0zero said nothing to show sympathy for, or commemorate the Armenian Genocide of Christians in 1915.

Why is that?

Maybe I missed it?

It was quite disturbing to see 0zero use the annual Prayer Breakfast to criticize Christians of today for the Crusades which happened almost 1,000 years ago… yet neglected to tell the truth that it was the Muslim conquests and slaughter of Christians and Catholics that led them to defend themselves at that time in history!

I have some questions.

Why does radical Islamic terrorism, and their murderous, raping of women, stoning and hanging of homosexuals, kidnapping of girls to be used as sex slaves and all the other atrocious ways of mayhem get a pass (e.g. refuses to label them “Islamic”); yet 0zero and his badministration continue to put down, criticize, show hatred towards and berate Christians?

What is wrong with this picture, people?

Enough already!

Why are Christians being bashed unendingly here in America while this badministration continues to ignore the atrocities being done against them in the name of the false “god” allah?

It all seems so Twilight zone-ish and surreal to me. No…that’s not the right description. It IS ALL SO TERRIBLY HORRENDOUS AND MORALLY EVIL!

I have never known any president of the U.S. to ever show such hatred towards Christians, back-stabbing our greatest ally in the Middle East – Israel – and even go so far as to try to do everything in his power to undermine the re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu because he probably (no…definitely) hates him!

Lately, I have noticed several blogs reporting on upcoming military exercises in certain areas of the United States.  The “project” is entitled, “Jade Helm 15.”  When an online search is done, over 2 million links show up!  I usually like to link to blogs that I am familiar with.  That is where I started my research.  The details that I discovered on additional blogs, news stories and websites were everything from the typical line from the movie Animal House – “do not be alarmed – all is well” to downright fear that this military exercise (and the name of it) SHOULD be a great cause of concern for all Americans!

In her “Off the Record” commentary, Greta Van Susteren took President Obama to task for failing to act forcefully against the atrocities. Van Susteren words came just after the release of another gruesome video by ISIS, showing the beheadings of the Ethiopian Christians. Van Susteren said despite video proof of the atrocities as they happen, some want to “bury their head in the sand.” Van Susteren demanded that President Obama step forward and lead the “great nations” of the world in a fight to stop the killings of Christians by ISIS.

American Center for Law and Justice Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow has condemned Obama’s inaction against ISIS and their wholesale murders of Christians by asking “how many more Christians must be murdered at the hands of terror group ISIS before President Barack Obama decides to take specific action to stop the slaughter. It is unacceptable for President Obama, the West and the United Nations to stand idly by and watch the systematic elimination of Christians by radical Islamists.”

Muslims are only recognized by Obama in White House statements related to ISIS if they’re the victims. Christians and Jews are only recognized if they’re the perpetrators of violence. Rev. Graham raises the very sensible point when he recently stated “Can you imagine the outcry if 21 Muslims had been beheaded by Christians?”

Obama Is Allowing ISIS to Grow

In the U.S. large scale air campaign which has resulted in countless civilian casualties has been routinely misreported by the mainstream media. According to  Max Boot, senior fellow in national security at the Council on Foreign Relations. ”Obama’s strategy in Syria and Iraq is not working… [ because] the U.S. bombing campaign against ISIS has been remarkably restrained”.  (Newsweek, February 17, 2015). The liberal press can be so forgiving of Obama’s transgressions. Restrained? Obama’s inaction against ISIS constitutes material support for the terror organization. With each day that Obama does virtually nothing to stop ISIS, is another day Obama is allowing ISIS the opportunity to grow stronger and to kill even more Christians.

In the early days of ISIS, Obama had the chance to use F-16’s, F-35’s, A-10’s, bombers, etc., to totally destroy ISIS, but he didn’t, why not? Judicial Watch uncovered a double-sourced government document proving the existence of an ISIS camp eight miles from El Paso. Obama has done nothing. why not?

Obama Is Playing for the Other Side

The lack of inaction against ISIS parallels his excessively weak nuclear treaty with Iran which will ultimately allow the Iranians to gain the ability to launch nuclear weapons against Israel. Obama is allowing Iran to send weapons to Yemen.

Two years ago, Egyptian media claimed President Barack Obama is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). Leading the charge was Tahani al-Gebali, Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court in Egypt.

Americans Should Fear Obama

Nearly 70 percent of Americans say they lack confidence that the U.S. will achieve its goals in fighting the terrorist group ISIS, according to a recent poll. America should not merely question the leadership of Obama, they should question his loyalties. If you are a Christian, Obama, by omission or commission is your enemy and he has the pedigree to validate this statement.

As I have reported in the past, the President’s half brother, Malik Obama, is involved and is a leader in the distribution of arms both in Gaza and in Central America. Malik Obama is charge of weapons procurement and finances for the Muslim Brotherhood. President Obama has never disavowed his half brother’s actions.

In fact, Obama has been fermenting a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of the White House.

This is not about being a Muslim. This is about senior White House officials having strong ties to a terrorist organization, who in turn, have ties to ISIS.

 

Under Obama, the New Coptic Christians Are the American Christians

As Supreme Commander of the military, Obama has encouraged/permitted the United States military to participate in the persecution of Christians.  A recent Army briefing was given by Lt. Col. Jack Rich to a reserve unit in Pennsylvania which identified several organizations and movements as extremist groups.  First on the list of his slides presented in the briefing listed evangelical Christians including Catholics, which was subsequently followed by Hamas, al-Qaida, Nation of Islam and the Ku Klux Klan.

Lt. Col. Rich warned his subordinates to not back down from bad Christian behavior for “when they see behaviors which are inconsistent with Army values, don’t just walk by. Do the right thing before it becomes a problem.” Further, the warning has been given to flag Christians and put them on no buy lists for guns. Rich’s briefing dovetails with the same kind of anti-Christian rhetoric recently presented to Colorado law enforcement officials in La Junta, Colorado in which Christians were prominently displayed in as domestic terrorists if they take the Bible too literally. And in the recent, so-called government shutdown, Christian military clergy were prohibited to minister to their flock during the shutdown or they faced court martial.

The Inspiration to Destroy Christians

Jade Helm In the Hands of Obama Is a Christian Genocide In the Making

Jade Helm is about dissident extractions. We have seen here, that the Obama administration considers Christians to be domestic terrorists. The Jade Helm infiltration techniques , planned to be implemented and spoken of by Jade Helm authorities, speak to the existence of death squads and the intention to use them. Jade Helm is about martial law and mass relocation. Given Obama’s past behavior toward Christians, all people of faith should fear for their lives. This administration has drawn a clear line in the sand against Christians.
