FBI Agents remain silent, instead of stepping up to testify against their superiors in the Bureau, for fear that they may face retaliation and financial and career damage, The Daily Caller reported.
According to a special agent who reached out to TheDC, as well as two FBI agents still in contact with a former White House official, Congress and the Department of Justice almost always fail to provide a backbone for the current whistleblower law.
While this legislation is meant to protect those who come forward from any retaliation or negative consequences, it instead “seems the agency’s retaliation will likely not be investigated as the process is, as one agent put it to TheDC over email, ‘slow by design and at the end of the process they will never be held accountable,’” according to TheDC.
The same agent further elaborated to TheDC: “Even with the enactment of the new law, what is the deterrent for retaliation against Whistleblowers? The FBI executives will just stall, ignore, and run out the clock until the victim runs out of money for legal fees or else retires.”
One agent’s wife, who had battled cancer and undergone two surgeries, was forced to go to work so they could maintain their finances after the agent came forward in 2013, according to email correspondence between TheDC and the agent. Even further, he experienced significant humiliation and illness.
Can’t say I blame the rank and file people in the FBI from speaking out against the corruption going on within it’s leadership. Really sad what is going on these days.
Don’t wish me a happy Memorial Day. There is nothing happy about the loss of the brave men and women of our armed forces who died in combat defending America. Memorial Day is not a celebration.
Memorial Day is a time for reflection, pause, remembrance and thanksgiving for patriots who gave up their own lives to protect the lives and freedom of us all – including the freedom of generations long gone and generations yet unborn. We owe the fallen a debt so enormous that it can never be repaid.
Memorial Day is a time to honor the lives of those who would rather die than take a knee when our national anthem is played. But they will fight and die for the rights of those who kneel.
This holiday is a time to think of young lives cut short, of wives and husbands turned into widows and widowers, of children growing up without a father or mother, of parents burying their children.
Memorial Day is a time to think of might have beens that never were. Of brave Americans who put their country before themselves. Without these heroes, America would not be America.
I see his point.
I have received several emails from companies that want to sell more of their products because of this holiday. They have included:
“Happy Memorial Day” – the Big Brown Bag sale from Bloomingdales
“Memorial Day is coming in HOT” (including a percentage off goods.) from Lord and Taylor. [Note: To their credit, they did include “Charity Days” meant to be a force for good in supporting our service members.]
“Plans for Memorial Day?” from Shoemall [At least that was more generic.]
“Memorial Day calls for Cense sangria!” – Weight Watchers [Then they added: “What better way to celebrate?”
“Memorial Day steals are ending! – Bed, Bath and Beyond.
I must give credit where credit is due. Received an email from “Living Fuel” which read:
Dear Living Fuel Family,
We at Living Fuel take this opportunity to pause from our normal activities in honor of Memorial Day. It’s a day to commemorate the heroic men and women of our military who made the ultimate sacrifice, or as Abraham Lincoln put it, “gave the last full measure of devotion.”
We are grateful for all active and retired military personnel and their families and join with you and the rest of the country in honoring the fallen service members who so valiantly gave of themselves on behalf of others. We do not take for granted the freedoms we enjoy because of their selfless courage.
I hope that visitors will click on the link above and read Robert O’Neill’s commentary.
My stats here recently have included a lot of interest in the Memorial Day post written back in 2016. You can read it via this link:
The Hill has a great post up today entitled “Stopping Robert Mueller to protect us all” that summarizes what has been done by “The Deep State” members in our government for over 1 1/2 years to try to(oftentimes, illegally) get President Trump out of office. The article has been shared over 18,777 times!
Excerpt:
(THE HILL) — The “deep state” is in a deep state of desperation. With little time left before the Justice Department inspector general’s report becomes public, and with special counsel Robert Mueller having failed to bring down Donald Trump after a year of trying, they know a reckoning is coming.
At this point, there is little doubt that the highest echelons of the FBI and the Justice Department broke their own rules to end the Hillary Clinton “matter” — but we can expect the inspector general to document what was done or, more pointedly, not done. It is hard to see how a year-long investigation of this won’t come down hard on former FBI director James Comey and perhaps even former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who definitely wasn’t playing mahjong in a secret, no-aides-allowed meeting with former President Clinton on a Phoenix airport tarmac.
Further down in the article we read:
Flush with 16 prosecutors, including a former lawyer for the Clinton Foundation, and an undisclosed budget, the Mueller investigation has been a scorched-earth effort to investigate the entirety of the Trump campaign, Trump business dealings, the entire administration and now, if it was not Russia, maybe it’s some other country.
The president’s earlier legal team was naïve in believing that, when Mueller found nothing, he would just end it. Instead, the less investigators found, the more determined and expansive they became. This president and his team now are on a better road to put appropriate limits on all this.
This process must now be stopped, preferably long before a vote in the Senate. Rather than a fair, limited and impartial investigation, the Mueller investigation became a partisan, open-ended inquisition that, by its precedent, is a threat to all those who ever want to participate in a national campaign or an administration again.
Excerpt:
Stopping Mueller isn’t about one president or one party. It’s about all presidents and all parties. It’s about cleaning out and reforming the deep state so that our intelligence operations are never used against opposing campaigns without the firmest of evidence. It’s about letting people work for campaigns and administrations without needing legal defense funds. It’s about relying on our elections to decide our differences.
Amazingly, the author of that article is Mark Penn, who served as pollster and adviser to President Clinton from 1995 to 2000, including during his impeachment.
There is much, much more that can be said and written about this “witch hunt” against President Trump, his administration, and his family!
The personal attacks against Trump were bad enough, but the attacks against his family were the worst! Why would anyone want to subject themselves to such awful treatment? President Trump can take it, as he has done so well ever since he announced his candidacy. But the terrible treatment done against his beautiful wife Melania, his youngest son Barron, his older children and their spouses is enough to make anyone in America think twice about ever running for public office. It’s a damn shame!
The comment section at The Hill is interesting and mixed. Will likely take some time for me to go through them all. So far, I like what “Cola GCock wrote:
“History will show the Obama administration as the most corrupt in US history.
They were in good shape up until Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton. Then, the house of cards started to fall.”
So true!
And, what Chipsie wrote:
Every American owes the entire Trump family enduring thanks and appreciation. This attack on our country’s freedom to choose our leaders was so ruthless, well financed and all encompassing with a compliant mainstream media to boot that it seems indeed a miracle that somehow President Donald J. Trump sustained his campaign. Like him or not, the man did not have to suffer the slings and arrows of those who at the very least have been entrusted with defending our governance and citizenry within the DOJ, FBI, and CIA. That he had and still retains the fortitude to do so is absolutely incredible and truly representative of American exceptionalism at its finest.
And this one by On Joe Gotta Go:
Finally. Someone on the left with principles, who recognizes the incredibly stupid and dangerous precedent set by the 0bama Admin’s corrupt use of our Federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies to delegitimize a political opponent’s campaign and administration.
That is a good question. Through Bible study, I have learned that people who believed in God the Father in the Old Testament also knew that one day the Messiah would appear and save them. So, was it the faith that they had about the coming Messiah that saved them? The people written about in the Old Testament, as well as the writers who were carried along by the Spirit of God, had the choice to believe in God or reject His existence. When Moses came down from the mountain with the 10 Commandments, the people then knew what the Law says and they were encouraged to follow it. Some were more successful than others, but the truth is that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Did following the Law save them? Was it looking forward in faith to the coming of the Messiah that saved them?
Unfortunately, the Old Testament saints were just as incapable of following the Ten Commandments as we are today. God provided them with the Law and recognized they would constantly break it. For this reason, He also provided them with an elaborate sacrificial system (to remind them of their shortcomings and the penalty for their continuing sin) and the promise of a Savior. Like us, the Old Testament saints were not saved by their adherence to the Law. They were saved by the grace of God through their faith in the Savior, even though this Savior was only a promise at the time.
They Knew About Grace These early believers listened closely to the words of God as they were revealed by the prophets and the Scripture. As a result, they understood the nature of grace. David, for example, wrote about God’s forgiveness and grace (Psalm 32:1-5) and Paul later told us that David understood that “God reckons righteousness apart from works” (Romans 4:6-8). All the Old Testament heroes of faith recognized their good works could not save them (read Hebrews 11:13). Even Isaiah knew his “goodness” wasn’t “good enough” (Isaiah 64:6) and that animal sacrifices weren’t going to ultimately please a Holy and perfect God (Psalm 40:6).
They Knew a Messiah was Coming With the limited knowledge of God given to them at the time, the Old Testament saints understood God would have to do something dramatic to save them. They placed their faith in the coming Savior who was described from the earliest of times. God told Adam and Eve one of their descendants would eventually defeat Satan (Genesis 3:15), and Abraham understood God would provide a sacrifice for sin, just as God provided the substitutionary sacrifice to replace Isaac (Genesis 22:8, Romans 4:3 John 8:56). Job had a similar expectation and hope for a Redeemer (Job 19:25-26), and Moses also expected and believed in the coming Messiah and the reward of Salvation (Hebrews 11:26, John 5:46). Many other Old Testament prophets and wise men spoke about the coming Savior. Enoch, for example, even talked about the second coming of the Messiah (Jude 14)! Old Testament prophets clearly described where the Messiah would be born (Micah 5:2), how He would be betrayed (Zechariah 11:12), how He would die (Isaiah 53:5), and how He would be resurrected (Psalm 16:10, Isaiah 26:19).
Old Testament saints understood their imperfect works would not unite them to a perfect God. They looked forward to the work of a flawless Messiah who would be “pierced through for our transgressions”, “crushed for our iniquities” and chastened “for our well-being” so that “by His scourging we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Those who understood and accepted the truth about grace and the coming Messiah were saved on the basis of their faith. The Savior has now appeared and His name is Jesus. We have today what the Old Testament saints only anticipated. Jesus is, as He always was, the Messiah and the only way to the Father.
On Monday, May 2, 2018, I watched a Dr. Phil show about a young woman who was brought into a cult group known as “The Church of Wells.” Readers can see several videos about this cult at YouTube.
Here is one video describing the two-part broadcast on this cult:
I saw the second broadcast which was mostly about the tragic story of the Grove family whose daughter has been there since 2013. She tried to escape four times.
Parents:
A photo of their daughter before she was brainwashed and indoctrinated:
A photo after years with the cult:
It was truly heartbreaking and very sad to hear how desperately grieved the parents were over the mind control and indoctrination that made their daughter into a completely different person! Apparently, she made it home one time but left and returned to the cult. Sometimes, the mind control is so strong that it renders the victim helpless to break out of it.
The “church” building is creepy!
The “elders” are creepy!
*******
Can “love” be corrupted? I think so. It can be corrupted, by unregenerate people who utilize obviously extremely wicked, heinous and vile techniques and ideas on others, as well as those who are more sneaky and subtle in their “counseling” approach. “Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right.” – C.H. Spurgeon
You might think that Christians would know to avoid such obvious examples of cult behavior and severe indoctrination techniques (i.e. secretly drugging them through water given; plus food, bathroom and sleep deprivation, and the “deep dive” mind control methods) which were used on the victims at Wells.
Perhaps.
But how about the more subtle cases of pulling someone away from their family and friends?
How?
Through mind control
Anti-biblical indoctrination techniques (often disguised as “counseling”)
Making victims think that their previously good upbringing was somehow “bad” for them.
What about the churches who steer people away from the truth of the Bible? There are so many of them! And, the Bible warns us that the closer we get to the end times, many who aren’t discerning about such churches will be fooled.
Only the spiritual man (regenerate) possesses the knowledge of God’s will….because he has the mind of Christ. Henry calls to our attention that it is through reading the scriptures that the spiritual man receives the knowledge of His will.
Before we move on we must add a word of caution from blogger and author Tim Challies. Speaking on discernment in “How can I increase my spiritual discernment?” he wrote:
Some have mistakenly defined spiritual discernment as a God-given awareness of evil or good spiritual presences—the ability to tell if a demon is in the room. While some people may possess this capability, it is not the biblical meaning of discernment. Spiritual discernment ultimately has to do with wisdom and the ability to distinguish truth from error.
So – how do Christians grow in spiritual discernment? Two ways. By allowing the Holy Spirit to be their guiding light; likewise, thorough carefully studying the Bible.
What should we do to determine if a person’s teaching is unbiblical? We are commanded to test what’s being taught. In fact, Paul urges believers to “test everything; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21) Likewise, John encourages us to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” How does one test a spirit? By reading the scriptures, in context, for that’s where Truth is found. Why is “testing” so important? “For many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1) False prophets/teachers distort the truth….which is why the Bible refers to them as false teachers and wolves in sheep’s clothing. It’s no exaggeration to say that a large number of charlatans knowingly—and without a smidgeon of guilt–lie through their teeth. Admittedly, examining someone’s teaching is no easy task. But nowhere in Scripture are we told that it should be left to “professionals”; it is clearly our responsibility.
We mustn’t ignore the fact that any teaching that fails to line up with what the scriptures say is not from God. And if the Bible’s not the source of his/her teaching, most likely its source is the “spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places.” Satan’s not called the father of lies because he’s a truth teller!
Far too many Christians rely on the discernment of other believers, like those of us involved in online discernment ministries. It’s okay to learn from each other (iron sharpens iron), but again, we must do as the Bereans did – test! Regrettably, when it comes to testing for errors, a growing number of professing Christians deserve a failing grade.
My prayer continues that through the leading of Jesus Christ in my life that I would be corrected when needed in my writings here and most of all, be led to write Biblically accurate and discerning posts for as long as I run this blog.
I also pray, dear readers, that you each would be led towards discovering the truth within God’s Word through diligent study of the Scriptures so that each of you can earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
"Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; for if you cry for discernment, lift your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will discern the fear of the LORD, and discover the knowledge of God"
Married for 34 years to my wonderful husband! Two grown adult children, a wonderful son-in-law and beautiful granddaughter in whom we treasure and enjoy life.
Our family is very close and love to spend time with each other. We share a deep Christian faith, love for the Lord Jesus Christ and love for each other.
I earned a BA in education from Kean University in 1978. I have been studying the Bible for over 30 years and in 2003, upon successful completion of the course of study offered in the MA Lecture Series, earned a Christian Apologetics Certificate from Biola University.
This blog is named “Talk Wisdom” because one of the main purposes of writing here is to share the wisdom of God – the only absolute and true wisdom – that is contained within the Scriptures of the Bible. As a born-again Christian, it is my desire to heed and share Paul’s encouragement and warnings in 2 Timothy 3:1-17
2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
2 Timothy 3:17 – that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Talk Wisdom’s goal is to defend the tenets and values of Biblical Christian faith. We defend our Constitutional Republic and Charters of Freedom, especially when speaking out against destructive social and political issues. As followers of our Savior and Lord, we should boldly stand up for Jesus Christ in our present circumstances. He is our Savior, Lord, and King, and His love needs to be shed abroad in our hearts and in our world – now.
A quote to remember!
“We are to be obedient to God and that means we are to fight against sin. Talking about not judging and loving each other does not absolve us from our duty to correct and — if necessary — censure those who refuse to obey God’s laws. If this were the case, then God would have had no reason to even give us a law: He would have just said do not judge, just love and left it at that — but He did not do this. Instead, He told us to obey, and then gave us at least ten commands. If we love each other — Biblical love — then we will do everything we can to help each other keep those commands, not make it easier to break them. After all, how can we claim to love someone if we are in the process of making their path to hell easier to travel?”

WHENEVER ANY FORM OF GOVERNMENT BECOMES DESTRUCTIVE OF THESE ENDS (LIFE,LIBERTY,AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS) IT IS THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO ALTER OR ABOLISH IT, AND TO INSTITUTE A NEW GOVERNMENT― Thomas Jefferson
"Our threat is from the insidious forces working from within which have already so drastically altered the character of our free institutions — those institutions we proudly called the American way of life. " -- Gen. Douglas MacArthur
