An Interesting Encounter

As I was pushing my grocery cart while leaving a grocery store today, a young man who works there just returned a group of carts to the stack of carts inside the store.  He turned so fast that he stepped right in front of my cart and I almost hit him!  Fortunately, I wasn’t moving as fast as him so he was able to get out of the way.  I apologized for almost hitting him with the cart.  He accompanied me out the door and proceeded to tell me about all of the times that he had been “attacked” by grocery carts; in the parking lots of two stores he previously worked at, by rude customers in the stores, and on and on he went.

It never occurred to me that a job like his would be so dangerous! /sarc off.

He then said that people were often rude to him.  I mentioned that it seems like rudeness has become a lifestyle ever since the election!  He said, yeah!  I told him that I avoid discussing politics and the election because people are so agitated over it that it’s sometimes scary!  He proceeded to say, “yeah, I can’t believe that Trump won.  Who would ever vote for him?  He’s horrible and disgusting towards women!  He’s an idiot!  He doesn’t know how to run the country!  He was a bad businessman!  He claimed bankruptcy 5 times!  He only has money because his father gave it to him”

I started to tune him out as I thought in my mind that it was only twice where Trump claimed bankruptcies;  and they were corporate bankruptcies which are very different from personal ones… but I didn’t want to get into that so I kept such thoughts to myself.

I asked him, “did you see the State of the Union Address?” [Correction:  It was an address to the Joint Session of Congress.  My thanks to GMpilot for this correction.]

He said, “No, I was working.”

I said that many are saying that it was the best speech ever.  Continuing on, I mentioned that many Democrats left before President Trump exited.  It happens to be a polite and customary rule in the House to show respect for the position of the presidency…no matter who is president at the time.  I also said, “there were many people who disliked Obama when he was president, but they didn’t show such disrespect by exiting before he left his State of the Union addresses.”

He said, “but he was a good president, not like this joker Trump.”

I said, “Well, no matter who is president, God is ultimately in control and I continue to hope and pray that His Hand of healing and leading will be on us and upon our nation.”

He replied, “Maybe God put Trump in there to punish us.”  I couldn’t help but think in my own mind…that’s what I thought about Obama!

I encouraged him to watch the State of the Union address so that he would be more informed regarding what was said.  Many people in the media said that it was Trump’s best speech ever.

He said, “maybe Trump will be impeached!”  I wanted to remind him of one famous Democratic president who was impeached back in the ’90’s.  However, I guessed that he was probably only 8 years old at the time and most likely didn’t know about the embarrassing sexcapades with the intern Monica Lewinsky, the accusations of women being groped and raped, the Whitewater scandal, or all of the other controversies that surrounded Bill Clinton.

I wished him well and thanked him for his help putting the groceries into the trunk of my SUV.

It’s funny how just mentioning that I don’t like to talk politics or about the nastiness of the election ended up leading to just that…an encounter with someone who has Trump derangement syndrome!

Including these just because they are funny!

Ultimately, what the choice was in the Election of 2016:

Which two were those? Trump Shuttle? Trump University, where he paid a $25 million settlement just after election day? How about Trump Taj Mahal? Trump Vodka? Trump Steaks? Is he going to add Trump United States to his resume of successes?

I asked him, “did you see the State of the Union Address?”
He said, “No, I was working.”

If he hadn’t been working, he wouldn’t have seen it anyway. Trump was addressing a joint session of Congress; the State of the Union speech won’t be until next January.
For someone who claims to love the Constitution, you really don’t know much about it, do you?

I said that many are saying that it was the best speech ever. Continuing on, I mentioned that many Democrats left before President Trump exited. It happens to be a polite and customary rule in the House to show respect for the position of the presidency…no matter who is president at the time.

Yeah, it used to be, but that was before this guy came along.

I also said, “there were many people who disliked Obama when he was president, but they didn’t show such disrespect by exiting before he left his State of the Union addresses.”

You did more than merely think about him, hostess. It’s all over your blog, eight years thick.

I encouraged him to watch the State of the Union address so that he would be more informed regarding what was said. Many people in the media said that it was Trump’s best speech ever.

It’s the first speech he’s given where he stayed completely on course, yes. But he hasn’t given many so far as Chief Executive, so the bar is extremely low right now. He didn’t babble on about the ‘record numbers’ at his inauguration, so that alone made it his best speech so far.

You mean you missed hearing this? You didn’t hear the Master of Mar-a-Lago boasting of the women that he groped, or his griping about the one that got away? Where were you hiding? Oh, that’s right: you only slam the ‘lamestream media’; you don’t pay attention to it any more.
Impeachment proceedings were indeed brought against Clinton, led by a Speaker who was forced to resign for doing the very thing the President was being impeached for. However, the Senate voted not to impeach (a Senate which, I might add, was majority Republican at the time). One wonders why.

I wished him well and thanked him for his help putting the groceries into the trunk of my SUV.

I’ll believe that when I hear rumors that Trump’s not an American citizen. (Given recent news, he may be an honorary Russian one, though.) I’ll believe it when there’s a grassroots group called TrumpReleaseYourTaxes.org. I’ll believe it when people begin dropping dark hints accusing him of drug-running and murders.
TDS is simply a weaker form of Obama derangement Syndrome…and since you suffered from that yourself for several years, you should be more sympathetic toward others who have it!

Maybe I missed it while just scanning through the first three article links, but I didn’t see where Trump declared bankruptcy. Paying a court case isn’t the same thing.

Yes. I had my doubts about Trump being president, but my concerns about HiLIARy Clinton in that role were much more troubling!

In today’s news, your Zero hero has allegedly been caught wiretapping Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign. If true, then that’s a very serious allegation! But don’t worry, the media of mass deception will bury that news like they did all other bad news about Obama, HiLIARy. and her pedophile campaign manager John Podesta! Pizzagate was exposed via the H. Clinton email releases by Wikileaks. That topic is so disgusting and vile that people are avoiding discussing it – like the plague! If any story is fake news, I would hope and pray that that one ends up not being true. However, the alternative media online has shown that it is such a huge tangled web involving many politicians and political billionaires whose money is being paid to shut people up. Several people have lost their lives for investigating it and revealing what they have found. The evil of it all sickens me…

I don’t blame Trump for not releasing his tax records. Obama never released records from his past! What does he have to hide?

Umm…I may be wrong about this but I thought that B. Clinton was impeached, but not prosecuted.

Unfortunately, it is inevitable that our nation will remain divided politically. The paid agitators and the ignorant, crazy minions following them on the freakish left side of the ideology spectrum will never give up. I just hope and pray that President Trump will continue to repair our nation in as many ways as he can while in office.

    To GMPilot,

Thank you for the correction re: the type of address Trump was giving to Congress.

When you put so many links in a comment, It is my job to check them all out before I publish your comment. I came on here today to make the correction and empty the spam. Will be on my way to an appointment soon, so when I do have time I will read the links within your comment and then decide whether or not to publish your comment.

In the meantime, you (and other readers here) can read what Obama is up to these days…and it’s not good!

Your “hero” is still the dangerous and treasonous Zero that has been revealed by the alternative media over the past 8 years and beyond! At least those thinking Americans who are not beholden to the far leftist, Islamist loving, George Soros Commie and Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals” freaks are now aware of the truth about him and his ilk!

    Chris,

I just read your blog yesterday, and I was thinking to myself how I had experienced something similar yesterday afternoon at Nordstrom.

I stopped in there on my way to Sees Candy. I had to pick up a box of candy to send to my Aunt.

To make a long story short I found a top that I decided to purchase. When I went to the sales desk the conversation ended up going to whether or not I was going to use my charge card, and if I had the new special rewards. I told the young lady that I didn’t have the special rewards, and in fact I had considered giving up my credit card altogether. I explained to her that when they decided to drop Ivanka’s line of clothing it upset me. I told her if what they had said about the clothing not selling, and that it was just a business decision was true I would be OK with it, but that it just didn’t make sense. From what I heard, during the Primaries when Ivanka tweeted about the dress she was wearing, and that you could purchase it at Nordstrom, or Macy’s there was an immediate uptick in sales. Within a few hours the stores were sold out of her dress.

When you examine the details logically there is obviously some deception going on here. Any clothing connected with a President, and his family is going to automatically sell more. It is the nature of the American public to want to buy what the First Family is wearing.

As you know I didn’t vote for Donald Trump, but companies playing politics just upsets me if they lie about it. I would have felt the same way with Michele Obama if she had a clothing line before Barak was President. If they came out, and said they were dropping her line, because it wasn’t selling it just wouldn’t pass the smell test.

Anyway, when I went to Sees Candy I picked up a couple of extra suckers, which are delicious by the way, and I stopped back in Nordstrom to give the sales girl one for listening to my rant. I don’t know if she understood my reasoning, but I think she appreciated the sucker.

Yes! The liberal media (and liberal hierarchy within the retail store industry) will shoot themselves in the foot and damage their stores bottom line before ever allowing a Republican President’s daughter to be successful in business. It’s such a shame…

When Target joined the maniacal bandwagon of men in women’s bathrooms, I stopped shopping there. Heard that it has cost them millions!

Liked your idea to give a “sucker” to the Nordstrom sales girl! I wonder whether or not she ever figured out your reasoning for choosing that “treat”! LOL!

Nice to see you back here!

Chris, I actually was trying to be nice when giving the sucker. I had no nefarious reason or hidden message.

I want both sides to see their hypocrisy, and have honest debates.

I am sick of nobody listening to each other.

Trump did some very dishonest or shady things in his life, and yes even during the Primaries. He did lie about people and events, and tried to destroy others character. Overall, I believe he loves America, and it’s people though. Do I give him a pass, and try to explain all of his past discretions away? No, I won’t do that.

Hillary Clinton, was also a liar, and did horrible things in her life. Yes, Obama lied too about numerous things. Do I think that they love America? I honestly don’t know, because both of them have great respect for Saul Alinsky, and George Soros it makes me doubt their love of our country. I also don’t think either of them respect our Constitution or the Founding Fathers.

I understand how Liberals feel now with Donald Trump. I felt the same way with Barak Obama. The liberals refused to look at Obama’s past, and see the contempt he had for the America. Republicans refuse to see Trump is not truly conservative. He is a Nationalist, and could misuse his power. Is Obama or Clinton better than Trump? I don’t think so. We needed a less globalist leader to protect America at this time in history, but we still need to be watchful with our eyes open.

We all need to be honest, and quit name calling. Realize that both sides have valid points. Where can we come together?

        L,

Sorry for misinterpreting the “sucker” message.

It is really nice that you empathize with those who were Obama/Hillary supporters and are so upset that she lost. I know some people like that and I’m grateful that they didn’t allow their disappointment to ruin our friendship and/or relationship.

You ask a good question, “Where can we come together?”

As Christians, we are called to be pointers towards the Light – meaning Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that people are lost and enveloped in darkness. We see this all around us! There are millions with no hope of being found because they are wandering through life without a sense of direction.

Jesus said He is “the light of the world” (John 8:12); and when He left this earth He designated His followers to be that light: “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).

How do we draw mankind out of the darkness and wilderness that they often reside in? I have found that the only way is to point them towards Christ where they can be rescued and saved.

Jesus also told us that we would be hated because they hated Him first. Not everyone is going to accept the message of the Gospel of Christ. Many hate the message and fight hard against it!

We are told by Paul that there will be times when we share the truth of the gospel and it will be soundly rejected. Therefore, we are to “shake the dust from our sandals (or feet) and leave that house.”

        Mat 10:14

“And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

        Mar 6:11

“And whoever[fn] will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them.[fn] Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

        Luk 9:5

“And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

This is not for the purpose of being mean. It’s just the truth that many will reject the gospel message of peace. Thus, they refuse to live in peace with those with whom they disagree.

The leftists (who are now raging because they are out of power and thus are utilizing the “shadow government” attacks against Trump and all Americans who voted for him) want to create a kind of socialist utopia here on earth. The trouble is, the elitists with that mindset want to rule and for all the rest of us to be subordinate. They will NEVER give up going in that direction (recall the term “Forward” being used in Hitler’s time as well as in Obama’s second campaign and term) and they will steal, kill, and destroy in order to achieve their goals.

You see, they don’t want to “come together” and never will! They are blind because they out rightly reject the gospel. Some may be “pulled out of the fire” as it says in the book of Jude, but many will always scream, accuse, rant and rave against Christians, Conservatives and their values.

Perhaps I can get my point across by sharing a quote.

        A. W. Tozer is quoted as saying:

“The gospel is light but only the Spirit can give sight.”
