Rush: Liberals see right wing as bigger threat than Islam.

March 29, 2016

WND has an article up today where radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh makes the claim that conservatives are a bigger threat to liberals than Islam.

Rush: Liberals see right wing as bigger threat than Islam
‘The left thinks we’re unjust and immoral’

Excerpt:

“Who are their biggest enemies? Christians, conservatives, right wingers. The left, which is Islam – militant Islam is on the left, just as the Democratic Party is,” Limbaugh continued. “Take a look their common political opponents or other kinds of enemies. It’s us, folks. This is the thing that a lot of people can’t get through their heads. We had 9/11. We had Fort Hood. Do you have Obama condemning it? Obama will not condemn it.”

Limbaugh went on to say that Europe is importing its own destruction, given that Islamic radicals have vowed to use Western freedom as a tool to bring about its destruction. The host said the cultural transformations happening in Europe give Americans a glimpse into their own future unless they act now.

“For some reason, Obama and his crew do not look at Islam as a threat to their power. Terrorism is a threat to their power, but they see that in us. We are a threat to their power – and we are. We’re trying to take it away from them. We’re trying to beat them in elections. That’s not allowed. That will not happen. We pose too big a threat to them. They could peacefully co-exist with all these other people. They’re on the same place in the political prism. They’re both out there on the left. Both have the same common enemy: The United States, Great Satan.”

Limbaugh said liberals find America an unjust and immoral place because its founding included slavery, while Islamic terrorists come to the same conclusion because the U.S. is populated with infidels.

“You listen to the ex-president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and you couldn’t tell the difference in what he says about America than Joe Biden on the campaign trail, or Obama,” said Limbaugh.

“They talk about this country in identical ways. They talk about Republicans in identical ways. We are their biggest threat, making us their central enemy. The American left, Democratic Party, and liberalism worldwide, its enemy is conservatism. Conservatism, if ever it succeeded – really succeeded – would vastly shrink the source of power, wealth and existence for all these people, and that is government.”

I found the following photo back in 2010 which was taken during an anti-Israel march in San Fransicko.

Notice what is in the photo below.  The man holding the sign is wearing Muslim terrorist garb.  The man walking next to him is wearing a commie red t-shirt with the image of Che Guevara!

How ironic that the Muslim man is holding that sign (below)!  Here’s a quote from Che Guevara that may explain their union of nefarious ideologies:

“I don’t care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting.”

Che Guevara

H/T Brainy Quote

I wish that more Americans would heed Ronald Reagan’s advice:

Ronald Reagan

“How do you tell a Communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”

Ronald Reagan

I must admit that I found it confusing when I first heard about the march and saw that photo! However, by the year 2013, it became much clearer why these two evil ideologies would march together in anti-Israel solidarity!

Tolerance is a crime when applied to evil (Thomas Mann).
(H/T – Atlas Shrugs)

The following is an excerpt from my former Talk Wisdom blog essay entitled, Why The Unholy Alliance of Islam and Communism? Taqiyya?

What those two men (seen in photo below, marching together, BTW, in an anti-Israel demonstration during the Bush presidential years) represent is the forming of an alliance between radical Islam and Communism!  Also, notice what the sign says:  “Thank You S.F. (San Francisco) Liberals – You Die Last.”  How ANYONE could possibly support either group is beyond any semblance of reason!  Liberals are being USED by both!  Yet they are either complicit in either ideology or just too damn ignorant to realize it!

I thought that the evil alliance of radical Islam and Communism (Putin and his ilk) would one day need to battle against each other for dominance of the world. This may still happen. Perhaps the caliphate-hungry Iran is using Communist Putin in the usual Muslim deceptive tactics known as al Taqiyya?  Muslims might join together and tolerate Communists in an old taqiyya-style kind of temporary alliance.  Why?  Because of their joined hatred of Israel!  They are uniting with the intended plan of making a future collaborated attempt at destroying Israel!

But then, which one [Islam or Communism] will ultimately win out?

Well, this terrorist’s quote shows what radical Islam believes:

“Sons of Islam everywhere, the jihad is a duty – to establish the rule of Allah on earth and to liberate your countries and yourselves from America’s domination and its Zionist allies, it is your battle – either victory or martyrdom.”

Ahmed Yassin
H/T Brainy Quote

And, where does the U.S. fit into this picture?

If the Lord Jesus Christ tarries, then hopefully America will break free from this egregiously criminal ObamaFRAUD tyrannical government with a new conservative leader who will help get us back on track towards restoring our beloved Constitutional Republic!

If not, then we might very well be headed into the fulfillment of end times *prophecy.

The Failure of Attempts to Undermine the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

March 28, 2016

It is the Monday after the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.  Of course, there will always be detractors of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross and subsequent resurrection to life.

Made an observation today.  When I typed in “He is Risen” into the Startpage search engine and clicked on “images,” they all represented that Jesus Christ is risen!  Why is that?  Because no other religious leader could ever claim this!  It is a fact of history, whether atheists/skeptics/haters/false religions/ etc. want to believe it or not.

I think that it was very sad that there were not many films on T.V. yesterday about Jesus Christ.  Fox News had Bill O’Reilly’s rendition of the Good Friday and Easter events in the film adaptation of his book, “Killing Jesus.”  Have not read the book but watched the film last year and what stood out most to me was the error being made that Jesus (apparently) didn’t know who He was (the Son of God) in the beginning of His ministry.  That’s totally absurd!  Also, the title of the book and movie isn’t correct, either.  Jesus laid down his life for his friends willingly.  He could have called legions of angels to “rescue” Him from the cross; but instead He stayed there to rescue all who would believe in Him from the penalty of their sins.  His sacrificial death was accomplished to defeat eternal death and hell for all human beings who would place their trust in Jesus Christ.

Then, there was a series of one hour shows (I think it was on a CNN station).  I started to record them, but after watching the one which made the claim that there was a “book of Judas” left out of the canon of Scripture, I knew that everything else in the series would most likely be wrong or suspect in nature.  Cancelled those recordings!

But then, I found the re-broadcast of The Bible series which was done back in 2013.  It is excellent and I highly recommend it for people who want to see a series that stays mostly true to the Scriptures. I only had time to watch the last two episodes which were about Jesus and covered some of the missionary journeys of the apostles.

Today, I read a post over at James Bishop’s blog entitled, Meme Grinder # 20 – ‘An Atheist’s Frantic Attempt to Undermine Jesus’ Resurrection.’”

Excerpt:

Although Christians are celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and its importance for humankind’s salvation and reconciliation to God we do still, sadly, have atheists like David McAfee trying to bring the whole show down on that very special day. The show of Jesus’ resurrection if is one that all of us have been invited to and that we can all partake in; it’s also a show that we all take a stand on. In our western world, for example, we either believe in it, disbelieve it, or stand indifferent to it. Unfortunately an atheist such as McAfee not only disbelieves in it, but he makes it his life mission to ridicule anything Christian related.

Be sure to read it all HERE!

Yep…I know how he feels!  Got one of them here at my own blog.

My comment there:

Well done and well said, James!  It is really good that you take the time to counter Mr. McAfee’s declarations of unbelief and distain for Jesus Christ and God’s Word, the Bible.  Psalms tells us:

Psa 119:42

So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.

Having my own “nemesis” at my blog for over 10 years now has helped me to share the truth vs. the errors that he claims as a non-believer.

I have found that no matter what proof and truth is shown to detractors of the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they often will never accept it or even consider it!  The greater audience of your blog may well be reached rather than McAfee; so you are doing the good work of an evangelist despite the fact that the person you are replying to will continue to reproach you for what you write.  This is exactly why Proverbs contains the paradox of these two verses of wisdom:

Pro 26:4

Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
Lest you also be like him.

Pro 26:5

Answer a fool according to his folly,
Lest he be wise in his own eyes.

In a comment thread on one of my posts, I made the claim that Jesus Christ has fulfilled over 300 Bible prophecies.  There are several yet to be fulfilled at His second coming.  I found a site that lists 353 prophecies fulfilled by Christ!

According to the Scriptures: 353 Prophecies Fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

Even with all of this evidence, hardened hearts will still refuse to believe in Jesus!  Amazing…isn’t it?

Why is that?

 1Co 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Well, God bless you James for your efforts here at your blog to lift up the Name above all names…the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

In Christ,
Christine

The Message of the Cross

March 26, 2016

One of my favorite Bible verses is the following:

1Co 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

All of 1 Corinthians 1 is a strong message for today, as well as it was back then. Ray Stedman’s commentary brilliantly explains why!

The entire Stedman ministries essay is so vitally important that it is difficult to choose just a few excerpts. However, I will share a few of them.

Excerpt #1:

The apostle [Paul] says it is impossible that we can ever arrive at a solution to our needs on this level, because there is something vitally missing. That missing element is the life of the Spirit in man, and without this, he can never solve all the riddles of life. So the apostle answers these schisms and factions and divisions by confronting them with the word of the cross—the word that presents the cross [of] Christ as that instrument by which God cuts off all human wisdom, not as being worthless in its own narrow realm, but as being useless in solving the major problems of man.

When we understand this, we realize that we will never begin to learn until we first learn that we do not know anything. When we come to appreciate the word of the cross, we understand that in the cross of Jesus Christ, God took his own Son, now become man like us, identified with us in every way, and nailed him up to die as being useless as far as solving any of the problems of mankind is concerned. That is the word of the cross; that is why it looks so foolish to the natural man; that is why it proceeds on a totally different principle than the wisdom of the world. And when we accept that, the apostle says, we begin to discover that true, secret, hidden wisdom that unfolds little by little the answers to the problems of life. We begin to understand ourselves and to see why this world is what it is, and where it is heading, and why all the confusion and the difficulties and the problems exist, as the deep things of God, the wisdom which God has hidden in Christ, is unfolded to us through the teaching of the Spirit by the word of God. It is a wonderful section.

And Paul says, “I’m not going to waste any time at all arguing with you about Socrates or Plato or Aristotle, or any other wisdom of men: they have their place, but when it comes to solving the deep-seated problems of human nature, there is only one wisdom that can touch it, and that is the word of the cross.” This becomes, then, one of the mightiest answers of all time to the intellectualism that constantly hounds the Christian church and attempts to undermine it—a false intellectualism. I mean by that that the word of God never attempts to set aside or call worthless the pursuit of knowledge. God intends men to learn things, he designed us that way, but it must be knowledge based upon a right beginning and we are called back to the principle set forth in the Old Testament, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Prov. 9:10); that is where we begin.

Here is the entire verse:

Pro 9:10

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

To truly understand what “the fear” means in Hebrew, seek out Strong’s Concordance.

Stedman covers many of the pitfalls of human sin and how such sin (which is not confessed to God and repented of at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ) would be the greatest mistake any man or woman could make in their lifetime.  All of our human accomplishments will one day fall to dust and blow away.  But belonging to Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit within is for our spiritual salvation and will make the difference for all eternity!

Second Excerpt:

But one of these days you are going to come to the end, and the testing, the analysis of what your life has been worth, and in that day you will see that if you have been living in the flesh, it is all wood, hay, and stubble. It is burned up, completely worthless, and your life—except for the fact that you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior—is a wasted enterprise. It is possible, even in the religious realm, to gain the approval of men and to be accepted as quite a figure in the church, and to enjoy the favor of others and the prestige that comes from position, and to come to the end, only to discover that the absolutely relentless judgment of God has not been impressed in the least degree by that which originates from anything else but the work of the Spirit of God in you—it has to be the Spirit and not the flesh.

This is exactly why no Christian can EVER take credit for “the work of the Spirit of God in us!”  We are just vessels, as 2 Co 4:7 says “jars of clay”):

2Co 4:7

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

This is why the book of Revelation tells us that the “crowns” we receive in heaven will be cast before the throne in an act of worship of Jesus Christ!

Rev 4:9

Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

Rev 4:10

the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

Rev 4:11

“You are worthy, O Lord, [fn]
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist [fn] and were created.”

Third Excerpt:

But what a triumphant paean of proof and praise is in this chapter concerning the resurrection. Paul closes it with what is his whole point. Everything in this whole letter comes right down to this one verse (verse 58):

Therefore, [because of all he has said up to this point] my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Chapter 16 is just a postscript in which he catches up certain little things that the church needed to know, very important to us, but then he comes back to this theme again:

Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong, Let all that you do be done in love. (1 Cor. 11:13, 14)

March 22: Nothing Can Thwart God’s Purpose

March 22, 2016

Those of us who know Jesus Christ and have studied the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, understand God’s sovereignty, His purpose, and the fact that believers are being shaped into His divine mold!

Loving God and His Son Jesus Christ brings forth the fruit of the Spirit. Notice that in Galatians 5:22, the term longsuffering* (or patience) is included. This is truth! Jesus told us that “in this world you will have trouble (or, tribulation).” But we are to “take heart, because I (He) has overcome the world!”

Gal 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Gal 5:23

gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

The fact that NOTHING can thwart God’s providence and ultimate purpose should deepen our faith and trust in Him!

Ephesians also has a lot to say about the fruit of the Spirit vs. deceitfulness, disobedience, deception, darkness, shameful things, foolishness, and the days of evil.

Eph 5:6

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Eph 5:7

Therefore do not be partakers with them.

Eph 5:8

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

Eph 5:9

(for the fruit of the Spirit [fn] is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

Eph 5:10

finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.

Eph 5:11

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Eph 5:12

For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.

Eph 5:13

But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

Eph 5:14

Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Eph 5:15

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,

Eph 5:16

redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

______

* I prefer the term “longsuffering” because I think that it more accurately describes what Christians forbear when confronted with people who hate us (because they hate Christ) and those who are involved with “the wiles of the devil.”

From David Guzik’s study guide:

i. Longsuffering in itself is a work of the Spirit! “Longsuffering is that quality which enables a person to bear adversity, injury, reproach, and makes them patient to wait for the improvement of those who have done him wrong. When the devil finds that he cannot overcome certain persons by force he tries to overcome them in the long run … To withstand his continued assaults we must be longsuffering and patiently wait for the devil to get tired of his game.” (Luther)

Did You See “The Passion” on Fox 5 Last Night?

March 21, 2016

I watched the “live” play re-broadcast at 8 – 10 p.m. (Pacific Time) last night.

Today, there are good reviews about it, and also bad reviews.

I must admit that tears of joy came to my eyes as I watched all of the people gathered there in New Orleans to watch the broadcast in person. Individuals and families of all different races, watching the production and listening to the songs chosen to be sung by several characters in story.

I thought of the contrast of that scene vs. the awful protesting going on in America’s current hot-bed of political division, fear, hate, and anger.

The beauty of seeing all kinds of people (most likely of different religions, political leanings, and cultural backgrounds) just sharing in the moments regarding this new rendition of Jesus Christ’s interactions with his disciples, the Last Supper, the agony in the Garden (in this case, against a fence in New Orleans), the betrayal of Jesus by Judas (with a kiss on the cheek to identify him to the authorities), the crowd choosing the murderer Barabbas for release while condemning Jesus with the calls of “crucify Him” and all the scenes that were depicted in the program; was uplifting and gave me hope for the future of America!

Throughout the show there was a large group of people traveling down a famous street in New Orleans while carrying a huge lit-up white cross on the way to the staging area.

There was a woman interviewing people along the way which seemed out-of-place with the storyline, but what some of them had to say was good.

Tyler Perry did a great job narrating the story. They did get some things wrong (i.e. the five loaves and fish account was not part of the biblical account of the Last Supper) but overall, I think that this live play probably could have the end result of attracting a lot of young people back to the Bible and learning about why Jesus came to this earth over 2,000 years ago and how the message of the cross is for the purpose of salvation of the souls of all mankind.

Mr. Perry did well to describe the excruciating pain that Jesus suffered on the cross, but at that point in the narrative, I think that one particular song sung by Christian artist Kari Jobe could have had a much-needed and bigger impact!

Please watch at this link:

Forever (Live) by Kari Jobe

Seeing Jesus atop a high building to indicate His resurrection from the grave was impressive and a nice way to show He is risen and alive forevermore!

Forever lyrics:

The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon him

One final breath He gave
As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive
Forever, forever

You have overcome
Your resurrected King
You have overcome the grave
You have overcome

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing Hallelujah

The Significance of Jesus on Palm Sunday, in Prophecy and in Revelation.

March 19, 2016

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday.  It is the day when we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey.

True Discernment has a great post up describing this event. I suggest reading it all.

There are several paragraphs in that essay that I would like to highlight; particularly because in a similar manner as back then, there is currently such a heightened and frenzied political atmosphere today here in America!  People are looking for some sort of “savior” who will get us out of the political, social, cultural, and financial mess we find ourselves in.

Excerpt:

On that first Palm Sunday, the people also honored Jesus verbally: “The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David!’ / ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ / ‘Hosanna in the highest heaven!’” (Matthew 21:9).

In their praise of Jesus, the Jewish crowds were quoting Psalm 118:25–26, an acknowledged prophecy of the Christ. The allusion to a Messianic psalm drew resentment from the religious leaders present: “Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples!’” (Luke 19:39). However, Jesus saw no need to rebuke those who told the truth. He replied, “I tell you . . . if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out” (Luke 19:40).

Some 450 to 500 years prior to Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem, the prophet Zechariah had prophesied the event we now call Palm Sunday: “Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! / Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! / See, your king comes to you, / righteous and victorious, / lowly and riding on a donkey, / on a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9).

The prophecy was fulfilled in every particular, and it was indeed a time of rejoicing, as Jerusalem welcomed their King. Unfortunately, the celebration was not to last. The crowds looked for a Messiah who would rescue them politically and free them nationally, but Jesus had come to save them spiritually. First things first, and mankind’s primary need is spiritual, not political, cultural, or national salvation.

When we look at this with wisdom filled eyes, we will notice that nothing has really changed since then! Mankind’s primary need is STILL spiritual; above all else! Of course, the political, cultural, and religious (i.e. “national salvation”) challenges going on can affect one’s spiritual decisions. The crowd cheered Jesus on Palm Sunday; but because their expectations of a Messiah were not met, they yelled “crucify him” just days later!

Excerpt from article link:

Even as the coatless multitudes waved the palm branches and shouted for joy, they missed the true reason for Jesus’ presence. They could neither see nor understand the cross. That’s why, “as [Jesus] approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, ‘If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies . . . will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you” (Luke 19:41–47). It is a tragic thing to see the Savior but not recognize Him for who He is. The crowds who were crying out “Hosanna!” on Palm Sunday were crying out “Crucify Him!” later that week (Matthew 27:22–23).

Look at what they missed from the Old Testament Scriptures that would have helped to inform them who He is:

Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Mat 21:5 “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”

This is just one prophecy that was exactly fulfilled by Jesus Christ. In fact, Jesus fulfilled hundreds of prophecies!

For a crowd to cheer Jesus one day, and jeer at him and scream “crucify him!” just six days later shows how utterly faithless people can be.

We can easily see how they can turn from the truth when they are not anchored in God’s Word and Truth!

How can we reconcile this?

Here’s the answer:

Jesus is the faithful one. He is faithful even when I am not (2 Timothy 2:13).

That is the crux of the matter. Even when we aren’t faithful, Jesus ALWAYS IS!! That is why we can trust Him with our very lives – now and for all eternity. How great is our God! He is the TRUE hope for our lives.

The following is a timeless truth:

I no longer live, but Christ lives in me and the life I live today in the body is by faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave his life for me (Galatians 2:20).

Jesus loved us all THAT MUCH – that He would die for our salvation. We know we can trust His promises, for three days later, he rose from the dead.

Excerpt from link above:

There is coming a day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10–11).

The worship will be real then. Also, John records a scene in heaven that features the eternal celebration of the risen Lord: “There before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands” (Revelation 7:9, emphasis added). These palm-bearing saints will shout, “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb” (verse 10), and who can measure the sum of their joy?

Defining Evangelicals

March 17, 2016

Defining Evangelicals in an Election Year

Last week, I was asked a question from someone of another religion what the term “evangelical” means.  This young man could be labeled as someone who vehemently “dislikes” Donald Trump.  He also self-identifies as “progressive” and if I were to venture a guess, would most likely vote for Hillary Clinton.

I gave a brief answer, but after reading an article from Christianity Today entitled Defining Evangelicals in an Election Year it seems to me that my more “simple” explanation may not have been enough.  However, I have often found that if I get too “wordy” about it,  people’s eyes glaze over and they could easily tune me out.

Evangelicals CAN and DO have a lot in common. However, as Rush Limbaugh pointed out (sometimes quite humorously!) on his radio show back on March 9, 2016, there is a Ruling Class Disconnect on Evangelicals.

I didn’t know about Donald Trump’s connection with Norman Vincent Peale until I read The Theology of Donald Trump.

Read more about Peale HERE.

Excerpt:

Yet as a Christian minister he [Peale] denied that God was a being, saying “Who is God? Some theological being? He is so much greater than theology. God is vitality. God is life. God is energy. As you breathe God in, as you visualize His energy, you will be reenergized!” (Plus: The Magazine of Positive Thinking). As a Christian minister he told Phil Donahue, “It’s not necessary to be born again. You have your way to God, I have mine. I found eternal peace in a Shinto shrine … I’ve been to Shinto shrines and God is everywhere. … Christ is one of the ways! God is everywhere.” He denied the very heart of the Christian faith and replaced it with his doctrine of positive thinking.

When I was growing up, Peale could have possibly been labeled as that era’s Joel Osteen.

For me, relying on God’s Word, the Bible, His Living Word, Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit is far better than man’s “power of positive thinking.”  The first Three are eternal; man’s “power” is temporary.

Donald Trump revealed a lot about himself regarding his brand of Christianity. The following portion of the article is what stood out most for me.

Excerpt from The Theology of Donald Trump:

2. Sin. Trump reveals that many evangelicals have come to embrace a different idea of sin than evangelicals have in the past. First, sin is now seen less a condition that renders us all “miserable offenders” before a holy God than mistakes good people make that fail to contribute to “our best life now.” Card-carrying evangelicals should have gotten it when Trump announced that he has never asked God for forgiveness because he doesn’t really do anything that would require it. This is problematic from a Christian perspective on several levels.

First, even if we were to reduce sin (a condition) to sins, the latter no longer include multiple divorces, significant past support of the abortion industry, lack of any church membership, and unabashed dedication to a “Me First” ethic. Widespread evangelical support suggests that we’re fine with these practices now—they’re normal.

Second, and even more troubling, “sinners” are now apparently the “others” whose very presence makes us feel afraid and disenfranchised. Deflecting sin from ourselves to others, we have helped to provide a foundation for whatever demagogue can rally people “like us” to self-righteous anger against outsiders.

As the graphic at the top of the page demonstrates:

[When] it comes to statistical prediction, four belief statements in particular proved extremely helpful. We asked a representative sample of Americans whether they agree or disagree with the following statements:

1.  The Bible is the highest authority for what I believe.

2.  It is very important for me personally to encourage non-Christians to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior.

3.  Jesus Christ’s death on the cross is the only sacrifice that could remove the penalty of my sin.

4.  Only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Savior receive God’s free gift of eternal salvation.

Those who agreed with all four statements were also likely to self-identify as evangelicals, thus bridging the gap between belief and belonging. They also attend church on a regular basis—meaning these four questions about belief also correlate with behavior (church attendance).

Though there are many other factors or belief statements many evangelicals would include here, these four, taken together, create a tool that predicts all the other things evangelicals could include.

[The] questions help us reliably identify which Americans hold classic evangelical beliefs.

Those four belief statements are the Gospel of Christ!  It is a good start when sharing who evangelicals are, and if a person wants more information, then we can share more details when they ask to hear more.

I also suggest having the Bible verses handy that support each of the statements.  For example.

Number 1:

2Ti 3:16

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

2Ti 3:17

that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

*******

Number 2:
 Mar 16:15

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mar 16:16

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

*******

Number 3:
 1Jo 2:2

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

1Jo 4:10

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

*******

Number 4:

Jhn 3:7

“Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

Rom 5:15

But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

Rom 5:18

Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

Government Intrusion Into Our Private Lives is at An All-Time High

March 15, 2016

Tonight’s second (or is it the third or fourth?  I’ve lost count!) Super Tuesday primary may very well end up being the political death knell (rhetorically speaking) for at least two of the remaining four Republican candidates for president.  But if they do well enough to stay in, I wouldn’t mind.

I have written about my reservations and fears regarding Trump, but if he ends up being the Republican nominee, he would still be light years better [IF, and only IF he is being honest about his conservative political views] than Lying Hillary or Commie Sanders!

I recently ran across several articles about an author named Cheryl Chumley.  Very astute and smart woman!  I particularly liked the summary written below regarding her thoughts about illegal immigration and how the Democrats misuse the Bible, our Constitution (and practically anything else) in order to demonize those of us who want to secure the border once and for all and prevent illegal immigration.

Received an email from WND this morning which shares the fact that the Bible is on the side of secure borders.

Excerpt:

In Exodus 22:21, God commanded the Israelites, “You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.”

Some American Christians [the leftist ones – Christine adds!] have interpreted that passage as a mandate for the United States to excuse and accommodate illegal immigrants.

But award-winning journalist Cheryl Chumley notes a “sojourner” is a temporary visitor; illegal aliens seek to remain in the country, so that passage does not apply to them.

Moreover, she pointed out, God Himself was the one who separated the peoples of the Earth and confused their languages in Genesis 11, thus creating nations. So national sovereignty is perfectly biblical.

[The] Bible does not teach that breaking the law is OK, she asserted. She cited Proverbs 28:4, which reads: “Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them.”

Chumley said it is unseemly for a nation based on the rule of law and Judeo-Christian values to reward illegal immigrants for their law-breaking by putting them on a “path to citizenship.”

“I don’t understand why the lawbreakers are given extra concessions while the citizens are put in a second-class state,” she told WND in and interview.

Well, many Americans who now are aware of the games of the Washington establishment on both sides of the aisle understand!

Chumley also wrote a column explaining why Trumps Fight is Really a War on DC.  This is why the establishment Republicans will probably do ANYTHING in order to keep Trump from the nomination.

The battle isn’t “R” vs “D” and hasn’t been for years, it is very much Ruling Class vs. Citizens. The population/voters are made up of those that understand what is being done to our lives and our country and those on the opposing side that are content in their belief that nothing is different and our government knows best. The Donald has struck a chord with those of us that are resisting the destruction of our nation.

I think that is very true! The TEA Party tried to warn people about 0bama, but not enough people were listening. After 7+ horrid years of failed and destructive policies, who could blame people for wanting an anti-establishment Republican candidate?

Another commenter shared what I am worried might happen with a Trump presidency:

The one thing that draws me to Trump is the fact that so many in the establishment, both Democrat and Republican, are trying so hard to stop his freight train. On one level, I can’t help but wonder if Trump is executing a con, claiming to support positions that he has no intention of implementing. But if that were the case, then it seems that those in opposition would be in on it and either overtly or discreetly support him. It would have to be one heck of a conspiracy to think all of this is coordinated to fool the American public into voting for the status quo yet again

Because Trump has been supporting so many Democrats over the years, how could we trust that he is genuine with his rhetoric espousing conservative principles, goals, and action?

FYI: President Trump has a great Agenda:

•Lower/simplify taxes, and eliminate the IRS asap

•Stop IL-LEGAL immigration, anchor-babies, and AMNESTY

•Replace ObamaCare with market-driven TrumpCare

•Balance the federal budget in 4 years

•Down-size the bloated, corrupt US government and USPS

•Re-negotiate all international-trade agreements

•Expand the US Supreme Court from 9 to 15 Justices

•Remove Ryan and McConnell from leadership of Congress

•Impose TERM-LIMITS on Congress and US Supreme Court

•De-fund PBS and the Dept. of Education and Common Core

•Make English the official language of the USA

•Audit the Federal Reserve banking system

•Thorough investigation of 9-11 and BenGhazi

Although I can’t claim being at any of his rallies, I have heard what seems to be the same rhetoric over and over again without hearing any specifics on how he would accomplish these goals. I have watched every debate and heard maybe 4 or 5 of these items listed as goals. But again, no specifics on how he would accomplish them.

Another commenter had these important facts written down:

The Tyranny of the Establishment.

The establishment politician has betrayed America in their conduct and our trust in government is completely broken. A government has become tyrannical in….
– Using its power to persecute its adversaries and critics (IRS scandal)
– Using its power to hide and betray Americans of its failures (Benghazi)
– Using its power to protect favored establishment political elite from prosecution (Hillary email)
– Using its power to go against the popular will of the people (Obamacare)
– Using its power to overturn governments in which it disagrees (Ukraine, Syria, Libya, etc.)
– Using its power to advance and protect elite interests to the detriment of Americans (TPP and failure to prosecute Wall Street for the last financial crisis)
– Using its power to reshape America into the poster child of globalist and UN initiatives, against the will of Americans (open borders).
– Using its power to extort from the productive class to grow their political base among the bribed non-productive class (tax increases)

I agree most with what “Dawg em” writes here:

I’m coming to the conclusion that, setting his crony capitalist tendencies and previous support for liberals and their ideals aside, Trump’s narcissism may indeed be compelling him to make his mark on history by turning this country around and making war on the DC establishment.

While I don’t believe the ends justify the means, and I have trust issues with people who run for office that decide to make adjustments to previously held positions, I also believe God can use anyone he chooses for His purposes.

So the real question becomes: Have Americans repented enough to again receive God’s grace and much needed healing? I pray it is so.

In This Highly Contentious Political Season, Seek Out the Truth

March 12, 2016

There are several bloggers who are covering the Moveon.org thugs who, unfortunately, shut down the free speech rights of Donald Trump to speak in Chicago. How is it fair for these agitators to prevent his supporters (or those who just wanted to see what he had to say) to threaten violence in order to keep Trump from exercising his free speech rights to speak at the rally? I have chosen just to link to them so that you can see for yourselves what transpired.

1. The Last Refuge: Eyewitness Account From Chicago Trump Rally

2. The Last Refuge: Far-Left Anarchists With MoveOn.Org and Bernie Sanders Take Credit For Chicago Political Mayhem…

Because I believe in our nation’s First Amendment free speech rights, I DO think that these paid George Soros thugs have the right to protest. But I also think that the Trump rally should have also been given the right to have his voice heard. After all, if Bernie Sanders (a Socialist who would wreak even more havoc here in the U.S. than 0bama already has over the past 8 years) has the right to spew his far leftist, Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals rhetoric and techniques (a book that was dedicated to Lucifer!), totalitarian, anti-Capitalism, and anti-Israel beliefs; then someone like Donald Trump should be able to speak at rallies, too.  Plus, I can’t even get started on the liar Hillary, who continues to campaign despite the fact that she deserves to be indicted for her crimes!

With that said, I must say that I continue to believe that Trump is not the best choice to run on the Republican ticket. Of course, this entire scenario will play itself out and we will see what happens in the future. But I happen to think that the MORE people who hear Trump’s empty rhetoric, the better it will be for the other candidates. Case in point, the last Republican debate (which was the best IMHO) revealed the stark differences between Trump and the remaining candidates. The following post shares a few of my thoughts regarding why any of the other Republican candidates would be better than Trump.

Which One of These Is Not Like the Others?

Anyone who has been watching the news on the media of mass deception already knows about the comparisons of Trump to Hitler. Are such comparisons legitimate? Or, are they far-fetched fantasies within the anti-Trump groups of people who oppose him as a candidate for president?

Well, my Christian blogging friend over at Oil For Your Lamp has a well thought out post which discusses this very issue! Readers may or may not agree with what he wrote, but I thought that the comparison of Hitler’s style of rhetoric prior to 1939 which mesmerized the German people and Trump’s current style was absolutely chilling and definitely thought-provoking!

HISTORIC COMPARISONS: Is The Comparison Of Trump To Hitler ‘Legitimate?’

I like the fact that the author asks the question for readers to decide for themselves if such a comparison is true (or perhaps similar).

Excerpt:

OK, now, whether you love him or hate him, the best story on the comparison of Trump to Hitler is probably the Glenn Beck piece.  That is because Beck explains why the comparison is legitimate by pointing out that the people making these comparisons know history better than the average person.  By that, Beck means they know who Hitler was before he became known for starting the Holocaust and WW II.  The people comparing Trump to Hitler are not saying Trump is the 1939-45 Hitler, but the 1929-1938 Hitler.  Hitler was a different person before 1939, and it is that person to whom people are comparing Trump — and as you will soon see, they are correct to do so.

Now, before we begin looking at the similarities, let me suggest that you not look for exact matches.  Trump does not need to be repeating, word-for-word, the same things as Hitler to be using the same tactics.  Nor does Trump have to advocate the exact same program to be pushing the same agenda.  What we have to do is look for things that are similar between the two and then see if they both point to the same underlying agenda and tactics.  So, with this in mind, let me share a few useful links and highlight a few key points in them and let you determine whether or not they bear any resemblance to the things Trump has been doing and saying on the campaign trail.

I would encourage all to read the entire post:

HISTORIC COMPARISON: Is The Comparison of Trump to Hitler Legitimate?

Now, some readers may think that I might be siding with the Moveon.org thugs that prevented Trump from appearing at the Chicago rally.  Well, you would be COMPLETELY wrong about that and I can prove it!

Those thugs were all for another Hitler type liar, propagandist and America-destroying thug back in 2009!

Canada Free Press: Is Obama Studying the Hitler Handbook?

Just a little excerpt which, in hindsight speaks of 0bama:

The transformation of youth………how does this happen? How does one focus these young minds?

Hitler had it nailed down. He knew that youth were the future, more teachable and moldable. The adults of Germany remembered living under democracy and might not be so easily fooled by Hitler’s slams against democracy. Remember, Hitler was a socialist voted into power by a democracy! Does this sound familiar anyone? Can you think of any other country that as a republic or democracy voted in a socialist who wants control and power? Gee………

The Historic comparison post links to several other must read posts, including a post at Business Insider which revealed (back in Aug. 2015) that Donald Trump’s Ex-wife Once Said He Kept a Book of Hitler’s Speeches by His Bed.

Now, everyone can decide for themselves whether or not the ex-wife was bitterly gossiping against her ex or telling the truth.  However, if you read that link you will find out even more chilling information from individuals who apparently discussed the issue with Trump.

In my own mind, the two previous posts that I blogged about first stood out for reasons not to trust Trump. Many other reasons have been added since then and I thank my blogging friend Joe for his timely post on the current contentious issues surrounding the Trump campaign!

Bibi Netanyahu is a very wise man!

March 8, 2016

I ask visitors here, can you really find any truly logical reason to blame Prime Minister Netanyahu for cancelling his “meeting” with 0bama? Past history has shown 0bama’s constant disrespect for Israel’s Prime Minister and the unconscionable, ill-advised, and disastrous Iran “deal” is most likely the culprit in this scenario.

Israel’s Netanyahu cancels US visit, catching White House off guard.

Excerpt:

A report in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz cited sources close to Netanyahu who claimed “no appropriate time” could be found to hold the meeting.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said Tuesday that Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. informed the White House last week there was a “good chance” Netanyahu would not make the trip.

An Israeli official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly, told the Associated Press Netanyahu wanted to avoid meetings with presidential candidates.

The unusually pointed pushback from the White House was the latest signal of ongoing tensions between the U.S. and its closest Mideast ally, which have never fully recovered since Obama incensed Netanyahu’s government by pursuing and then enacting a nuclear deal with Iran. The flare-up comes just days before Vice President Joe Biden is set to meet with Netanyahu during a visit to Jerusalem.

This isn’t the first time Obama had been caught off guard by Netanyahu’s travel plans. Last year, the White House accused Netanyahu of a breach of longstanding diplomatic protocol when he announced plans to speak to a joint session of Congress without consulting or notifying the president. Netanyahu used that speech to implore U.S. lawmakers to reject the Iran nuclear deal, which Israel sees as emboldening its archenemy.

I do not blame Netanyahu one bit for cancelling (or not accepting in the first place) the visit with the worst pResident in U.S. history!

God forbid that the absolute ungodly ugliness of either of the two Democrat candidates gets into office! America has suffered enough under the 0bama BADministration! We definitely don’t want a repeat of liberal leftist lunacy!  What a disaster it would be to have either the perpetually lying Hillary Clinton or obviously Communist Jew-hating Bernie Sanders !

Dennis Prager (who happens to be a religious Jew) describes in less than five minutes how the runaway liberal leftist policies are there for the purpose of the undoing of the American Revolution.  In this short video, he explains how the far left has undermined our Republic and why either Clinton or Sanders needs to be defeated in the election coming this November!

Prager’s comments:

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – There are two types of people in this world – those who see only the trees and those who see the entire forest. Talk radio host Dennis Prager assured CPAC attendees that he falls into the latter category.

“We have today an undoing of the American Revolution,” Prager said Thursday during a speech on the main stage at CPAC. “I say this without rancor; I say this without exaggeration. The American Revolution’s ideal, especially of small and limited government, is being undermined. The left represents Europe; the right represents the American Revolution. It is a battle between the American Revolution and the French Revolution. It is nothing less than that.”

Prager, a WND columnist, explained that just as Christianity is based on a Trinity, America has a trinity of values as well: liberty, In God We Trust, and E Pluribus Unum. He lamented that Americans have not taught that American trinity to their children.

“The left is undermining all three aspects of the American value system,” he said. “It prefers material equality to liberty.”

He noted 70 percent of millennials, according to one Pew Research poll, don’t want freedom of speech if that free speech might hurt someone’s feelings.

“After 50 years of left-wing indoctrination, people don’t believe in freedom of speech, they believe in the right not to be offended,” he said.

Regarding our national motto of “In God We Trust,” Prager said our nation needs God if it is to maintain a constitutional system of government.

“I don’t care if you’re a social liberal and a fiscal liberal, or just a fiscal liberal, this country was founded on the belief that freedom was only possible and small government is only possible if people are accountable to a morally judging God,” he declared. “I understand the origins of America were God-centered because either God gives us rights or people give us rights, and there is all the difference in the world.”

Regarding E Pluribus Unum, which means “Out of many, one,” Prager said the liberal doctrine of multiculturalism and the grievance industry are undermining national cohesion.

It will be a much better time here in the United States of America when we have a genuine, America-loving, loyal, Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution following Republican president come late January, 2017!
