Whenever I walk a few miles with my friend Donna, we always get into such great conversations regarding the Bible, Christianity, and other religions. We discuss what an evil religion like radical Islam does against Christians all over the world, and are seeing ramped up atheistic attacks that are going on against Christian beliefs and practices here in America, too.

Donna sent me an awesome video of a woman [Heidi Mund] in Germany who stood up in her church, protesting that a visiting Imam was allowed to pray to the false god allah in the German Christian church!

 

Watch what this German woman did when a German Church of the Reformation hosted a concert which included an Imam doing the Muslim call to prayer inside the church.   It brings to mind the Dietrich Bonheoffer quote

“Silence in the face of evil is itself  evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”                        This is a brave woman!

Wrote back to Donna and said:

Just watched that video and I’m so glad that she had the courage to do that!  How heretical it was for this “church” to throw her out and not the Imam!  Donna, I think that this is coming to the U.S.  With “pastors” like Rick Warren combining Christianity and Islam – creating the new false religion of “Chrislam” – we who hold to the truth need to speak up against such heresy and apostasy!

That woman in Germany was absolutely correct to protest the Imam at the Christian church!!!  Not too many people (notice that the  congregation either chose to remain silent or chastised her through saying, “it’s just a concert” regarding such heresy happening in their own church!) would have the courage that this woman had to speak up and speak out.

The modern-day mantras of “diversity” at all costs; and “tolerance” (which is actually a code-word used to  appease just one side of the issues while silencing Christian belief) makes matters worse every year.  The term “anti-discrimination” is overly used in order to push the liberal/progressive/pro-Islam bias of the left while stomping on the free speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of association rights of Christians.  Such freedoms are in our founding documents, but since the Constitution is being trashed by the left, these freedoms are being taken away bit by bit, lie by lie, and lawsuit by lawsuit.  What they are doing is trampling on the will of We The People; not only through biased judges in courtrooms, but also  in every way that they can – especially through voter fraud and IRS abuse.

In chapter 13 of the book of Revelation, we learn about the false prophet’s profile, purpose, program, and ultimately, his punishment.

In “Agents of the Apocalypse,” Dr. Jeremiah writes in chapter seven, “The Beast from the Earth”:

I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.  Revelation 13:11

John describes this religious leader as a “beast coming up out of the earth,” which is obviously a metaphor to describe his predatory nature. He is a man, and he is called “the false prophet” three times in the book of Revelation (16:13; 19:20; 20:10).

John profiles the false prophet as a composite of two opposite types of animals: a lamb and a dragon. As a lamb, he will appear meek and mild–counterfeit of the true gentleness of Jesus. [Jesus] warned His followers of such deceivers: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15; see also Matthew 24:11, 24; Mark 13:22; 1 John 4:1).

As a dragon, the false prophet will manipulate and deceive the masses. “The dynamic appeal of the false prophet will lie in his skill in combining political expediency with religious passion, self-interest with benevolent philanthropy, lofty sentiment with blatant sophistry, moral platitude with unbridled self-indulgence. His oratory will be hypnotic, for he will be able to move the masses to tears or whip them into a frenzy…His deadly appeal will lie in the fact that what he says will sound so right, so sensible, so exactly what unregenerate men have always wanted to hear.”

Sounds eerily familiar…doesn’t it?  We have false prophets both in the religious realm and political realm here in the United States.   The question is, can YOU, dear reader, recognize them?

For Christ warned us:

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

Mat 24:24

“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Mat 24:25

“See, I have told you beforehand.

This brings to mind Paul’s words in 2 Timothy:

2Ti 4:3

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

2Ti 4:4

and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Good question!  But according to what I read over at WND it isn’t likely. People already want to know if it’s going to be another non-biblical flop like “Noah” was.

But as some sobering new statistics reveal, what movie audiences really want to know before they spend their money on a ticket … is whether the makers of “Exodus: Gods and Kings” are trying to pull another “Noah.”

The earlier film about the Flood, also boasting big-name talent and a blockbuster budget, took wild liberties with its biblical source material. By its director’s own admission, “Noah” was twisted into a tale far more about environmentalism than the judgment and mercy of God.

Consequently, Christian audiences – who make up the majority of film-goers in America – largely panned the movie, and “Noah” required international ticket sales to avoid losing tens of millions of dollars.

So far, the makers of “Exodus: Gods and Kings” haven’t done a good job of assuring audiences the movie is biblically accurate.

Earlier this month, Christianity Today reports, Christian Bale – who plays the part of Moses in “Exodus: Gods and Kings” – told reporters in Los Angeles he has a much more gritty vision of the biblical hero.

“I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life,” the actor said of Moses. “He’s a very troubled and tumultuous man who fought greatly against God, against his calling.”

Director Ridley Scott, who told the New York Times last year he’s an atheist, told Entertainment Weekly last week he looked to science, not miracles, to explain the amazing events recorded in Exodus.

So…we have an actor who makes Moses into a “much more gritty vision of the biblical hero,” and a director who is an atheist and makes the claim that an earthquake (environmentalism again??) caused the parting of the Red Sea.

With those two errors alone, the movie does not look promising in portraying the biblical account.

The Counterfeit Christ

As I continue to read and study via the current Turning Point series about the end times (called “Agents of the Apocalypse), I find it quite sobering to see how difficult it will be for individuals left behind after the Rapture of the Church during the Tribulation years. But there are also bright spots to consider! This particular book and series has presented evidence (via Scripture) just how important the Messianic Jews will be (particularly regarding the two witnesses and the 144,000) in helping unbelievers come to Christ before it’s too late.

The fictional stories at the beginning of each chapter are backed up by Scripture within each “Agent” description. It is truly fascinating! Despite the fact that I have studied and read many books on Revelation, there is always something else to glean from this extraordinary book! Dr. Jeremiah has done a masterful job sharing many facts through the various agent descriptions and how they fit into the entire scenario. Many prophetic writers within the entire Bible (including the Old Testament ones of Daniel, Isaiah and others; as well as New Testament Scriptures (including Matthew, Mark, John etc. as well a 2 Thessalonians, Philippians) point us towards the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

A chart in Dr. David Jeremiah’s new book and T.V. series, “Agents of the Apocalypse” reveals the stark contrast between Christ and the Antichrist (“anti” which means “against” or “instead of”).

Christ:

1.  Son of God  (John 1:34)

2.  Holy One  (Mark 1:24)

3.  Came down from heaven (John 3:13)

4.  Energized by the Holy Spirit   (Luke 4:14)

5.  Does the Father’s will (John 6:38)

Dr. Jeremiah writes:

Either a civilian or a military man, no matter what his nationality, who will cut all the red tape, shove out…all the committees, wake up all the people and galvanize all governments into action. 1

When the Antichrist ascends the global stage, the world will be waiting to receive him in precisely this way.

Millions cannot help but notice how many people had fallen for the rhetoric and lies of the current occupant in the White House. It just goes to show how easily people (who don’t know Jesus Christ and haven’t studied the Bible) can, and will be deceived when the beast from the sea emerges during the Tribulation.

Agents Of The Apocalypse Discussion

 

In a previous post, I wrote about a new series and book coming out by Dr. David Jeremiah of Turning Point ministries. The series is based on his new book called “Agents of the Apocalypse.”

So far, I have seen three episodes over the past 3 Sundays. They were excellent! This series explains why the chaos is happening and how the Bible predicted such things the closer we get to the end times. The first was very informative, the second one was very sobering, and the third was quite enlightening.

I have pre-ordered the book, but it won’t be released until sometime later in October.

Whenever I recommend a preacher, pastor and/or book, I like to be sure that they are biblically based in their teachings. When I read that there would be fictional accounts at the beginning of each chapter, I was a bit concerned that in doing so, the author might stray from what is written in Scripture in order to increase the entertainment value. This was seen (in a big way) with the recent “Noah” film. In fact, that movie strayed so far from Scripture that it should have been named, “The Rock Creatures”…or something else! Noah’s character was truly unrecognizable when you compared Russell Crowe’s role in the movie to the biblical account of Noah and his family. But I digress.

I wrote a letter to Dr. Jeremiah several weeks ago because I had some concerns about the fictional accounts that I was able to read at the website before the upcoming release of the book. Below, is my letter, and then the response I received. I was glad to get a response, but a bit disappointed that some of my questions were not directly addressed. Also, the response was not signed by whomever wrote it.

Dear Dr. Jeremiah,

 

I have been a longtime believer in Jesus Christ and have been watching your Turning Point broadcasts for several years.  I have always been blessed, and grateful, that your sermons and books have been biblically based.  I understand that the new book coming out soon – “Agents of the Apocalypse” will contain fictional accounts that fill in the gaps within the book of Revelation.  However, the September, 2014 devotional states that “nothing that is in the Bible has been altered.”  Well, I found something in Chapter Two – “The Martyrs” [fictional] excerpt online that is questionable because it does not correct the belief that “the Jewish leaders murdered Jesus.”

 

The first pages of church history tell of Stephen, who was stoned to death for insisting that the Jewish religious leaders had murdered Jesus (Acts 7).

 

Perhaps I am wrong, but I did not read this in Acts 7.  The fact is, also, that Jesus laid His own life down of His own accord.  Recall the verses where Jesus could have called down legions of angels to rescue Him from the cross.  If He did that, then the penalty for sin would not have been paid and Jesus would have re-entered heaven alone.  The second fact is that we all are guilty of sin.  Therefore, every human being on earth is responsible for the death of Christ on the cross.

 

I do not mean to lecture you, Dr. Jeremiah.  I know that your knowledge of the Bible is light-years above mine.  But when I read that sentence from the [fictional] excerpt in chapter two, an alarm bell went off in my mind.  You see, decades ago, I was raised Catholic and in Catholic tradition, the teaching that “the Jews killed Jesus” was prevalent.  They may have since backed off from such teachings since I left that church and joined a non-denominational Bible-based Christian church.   It is a long story, but I became a born-again believer in Christ back in 1978, ended up as a back slider; but rededicated my life to Christ after joining a Bible study on the book of John in 1993.  It was during this study that  I noticed that a lot of the Catholic church dogma did not line up with Scripture.

 

Another question that I have is about Zionism.  In the [fictional] excerpt of Chapter 3 – “The 144,000” there is a sentence that reads:

 

Most Jews in Israel were now Zionists, more secular than religious.

  

Perhaps I am wrong about this disagreement, too, but I have always thought that Zionism was a good thing for Israel.  The entire Palestinian/Israeli ongoing war is because the Palestinians (and their Muslim terrorist backers, as well as the U.S. leftist backers who don’t believe in Bible truth) think that God did not give the land to the Jews and it should be carved up and divided.

Thank you for all that you do in your excellent ministry, Dr. Jeremiah.  I do not wish to question your motives in this upcoming book.  However, with so many pastors and preachers moving towards heresy (e.g. Rick Warren getting involved with Chrislam – a mixture of Christianity and Islam) we must all be diligent enough to be careful not to contradict the truth of the Bible in these very difficult times.

Dear Christine,

 

Thank you for your encouraging email and for your confidence in asking such an important question, “Who killed Jesus?”

 

Christine, there are four major points that have to be made in answering the question.

 

1. The Romans killed Jesus.  Pilate, the Roman governor, could have freed Jesus, but to preserve his standing with the mob, he willing[ly] delivered Jesus to be crucified (John 18:29 – 19:30; Mark 15:15).
2. The Jew killed Jesus.  The Jew cried, “His blood be on us and on our children” (Matthew 27:25).  Peter, preaching to the Jews later on, pointed his finger at them and said, “you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death” (Acts 2:23).
3. God killed Jesus. “Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted . . . Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief” (Isaiah 53:4, 10). Acts 2:23 confirms that Jesus was “delivered (unto death) by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God.”  God did it.
4. I killed Jesus.  My sins nailed Him to the cross.  He died for me.

 

Who crucified Jesus?  All of us.  The sins of every individual, from Adam to this very day, nailed Him there.  The Crucifixion is not just a historical event that we recall at Easter.  It is a reminder that our sin, our falling short of God’s glory, our active or passive rebellion, is the very commodity that put Jesus on the cross. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

 

Concerning Zionists:  “Zionism” is a movement for the re-establishment and (now) the development of a Jewish nation in Israel.

 

Secular Jews feel that heritage and tradition is all that matters.  Like many other people who practice religion or tradition, they believe that they are right with God simply because of ritual or practice.  This is most of Israel today, but not in the future.

 

Christine, always remember that biblical prophecy is written to transform us.  It is written so we might live with holiness and purity while awaiting Christ’s return.  It is written to inspire us to renewed fervor:  It is written so that we might pursue God’s will for our lives with rekindled fire and fresh zeal.

 

“Do business till I come” (Luke 19:12-13).  “Surely I am coming quickly” (Revelation 22:20).  

“. . . Be patient.  Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand” (James 5:8).

The Greatest Comfort Known to Man

Our earthly lives are being twisted – by and through the influence being done to people from the enemy of our souls. Those who do not know Jesus Christ and haven’t read or studied the Bible will not be able to discern the truth vs. the lies. That’s a fact!

 

Jesus told us that “in this world you will have trouble (tribulation).” Fortunately, Christ didn’t stop there. He also said for us to “take heart, for I have overcome the world.”

 

Jhn 16:33

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

 

I often think about that verse when uncertainty abounds and the world appears to be in chaos. Jesus warned us of such things happening, but we can STILL have peace because of the fact that His sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary, and His resurrection to life three days later is proof that He has overcome the world.

 

Another verse that gives me hope and peace is:

 

1Jo 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

 

Being born again in Christ is THE most important goal in life! And, if you think about what these Islamic terrorists REALLY want – it is to rule the world with their “sharia law” and worship a false moon-god named “allah.” Trouble is, Christ’s victory and our faith in Him has overcome the world! So, no matter what happens to us or against us on this earth pales in comparison to the ultimate victory of belonging to Christ in eternity.

Islamists think they can kill their way to make others submit to their barbaric ways. Unfortunately, some who are ignorant, ungodly, and easily persuaded to  succumb to evil are joining up with the terrorists. But we know that the one they worship – namely satan – is a defeated foe. Therefore, all that they say and do, and all that they are (physically) on this earth will fall to dust and blow away.

Ecc 3:20

All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust.

 

Job 17:16

Will they go down to the gates of Sheol? Shall we have rest together in the dust?”

 

Psa 44:25

For our soul is bowed down to the dust; Our body clings to the ground.

 

Psa 30:9

“What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?

Psa 119:25

DALETH My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.

 

Think about it!  All that Islamic terrorists strive for here on this earth will be for naught in eternity!

 

Ecc 12:7

Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.

 

In the prophetic words of Daniel, which is a foreshadowing of the Rapture of the saints and the destruction of the wicked, we read:

 

Dan 12:2

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

 

Jesus Himself had strong words for those who have been presented with the Gospel, but have chosen to reject the truth:

 

Mar 6:11

“And whoeverfn will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them.fn Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

 

 

I love this verse:

 

 

1Jo 4:4

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

 

The Holy Spirit, Who indwells believers at the moment of salvation, will ALWAYS be greater than satan whose ultimate goal is to  influence people towards evil in the world. Knowing that no matter what happens to us on this earth, satan can’t touch the souls of believers because Christ overcame satan and his demons at the Cross!  This is the greatest comfort known to man!!

 

That portion of Scripture also tells us:

 

1 Jo 4:5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.

 

1 Jo 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

 

The fact is that so many who hold to liberal/progressive/socialist/communist/Islamic/totalitarian etc. ideologies (which most often battle against God, Jesus Christ, and His Word – the Bible) all “speak as of the world” because they ARE “of the world” (and subsequently, are all following “the spirit of error”).   So many who are not redeemed are duped into hearing them (“and the world hears them”).  The following verse reiterates this fact:

 

Mat 7:14

“Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

 

Quite sobering…isn’t it?

 

In a poem written by my friend D. N., she writes:

 

“Those who know I AM will see – others never will.”

 

Here is the entire poem:

Up is down and down is up .

I’m feeling twisted.

Lord have mercy.

There is good.

We are searching.

So many lies on every side things are twisted out of control.

Those who know I AM will see… others never will.

That’s exactly why we need to share the Gospel. Some will accept, others won’t. It is sorrowful when we put forth our best efforts, but the person ends up rejecting the Gospel message.   However, it is extremely joyful when they do accept it!!! We can only plant the seed in their minds and ask them to take the truth of the Gospel to heart.  The Holy Spirit of God takes over from there.

 

Jesus informs us in the following verse that He is not of this world.  He is God the Son – in the flesh – so that He could redeem us from sin, evil, and death; and thus reconcile us back unto the Father.

 

Jhn 8:23

And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

Jesus Christ is the Messiah that the Old Testament writers and prophets wrote about.

Evil is about sin, hate, indifference and shows itself not only through the physical death of men, but also the spiritual death of men.

Christ took the sins of the world upon Himself in the greatest act of love ever given through this act of grace,  mercy, and forgiveness.   The contrast between good and evil could not be more obvious.  The enemy of our souls comes to kill, steal, and destroy.  Christ, following the will of the Father in heaven, came to redeem us from our sins and to give us life.  What’s more, He gives us life more abundantly; both now and in eternity.

There is no greater love!
