Matt Drudge Issues Warning: “Have An Exit Plan”

January 31, 2014

Discussing national and global financial issues is never a fun topic for me.  In fact, reading such articles make me sleepy and my eyes end up being glazed over with boredom!  However, recent information has forced me to sit up, take notice, and report what is being shared via blogs, aggregate websites, and in financial news stories.

First, I need to inform readers here that I don’t have all of the information that is out there regarding this issue.  Second,  I am looking for more information, so anyone who has more to share, please include links, commentary, and any inside information that you may have attained in the comment section!  This is a Talk Wisdom Reports…You Decide kind of post.

Here goes:

While visiting The Birther Report, I came across several articles with comments that have been discussing a cryptic warning tweet that was sent out a few days ago by Matt Drudge.  I don’t use Twitter, so here is his tweet in quotes, “Have an exit plan.”

In addition, Commieblaster has several links to articles regarding strange financial happenings in the U.S. as well as  in other countries:

Why is the Fed Tapering? …Gold Manipulation  1/30/14

I suggest that you read the entire article,” Why is the Fed Tapering?”  However, here is an important excerpt:

Manipulation of the gold price [previous paragraphs explain this at article link] is a foregone conclusion. The question is: why is the Fed tapering? The official reason is that the recovery is now strong enough not to need the stimulus. There are two problems with the official explanation. One is that the purpose of QE has always been to support the prices of the debt-related derivatives on the balance sheets of the banks too big to fail. The other is that the Fed has enough economists and statisticians to know that the recovery is a statistical artifact of deflating GDP with an understated measure of inflation. No other indicator–employment, labor force participation, real median family income, real retail sales, or new construction–indicates economic recovery. Moreover, if in fact the economy has been in recovery since June 2009, after 4.5 years of recovery it is time for a new recession.

One possible explanation for the tapering is that the Fed has created enough new dollars with which to purchase the worst part of the banks’ balance sheet problems and transfer them to the Fed’s balance sheet, while in other ways enhancing the banks’ profits. With the job done, the Fed can slowly back off.

The problem with this explanation is that the liquidity that the Fed has created found its way into the stock and bond markets and into emerging economies. Curtailing the flow of liquidity crashes the markets, bringing on a new financial crisis.

We offer two explanations for the tapering. One is technical, and one is strategic.

First the technical explanation. The Fed’s bond purchases and the banks’ interest rate swap derivatives have made a dent in the supply of Treasuries. With income tax payments starting to flow in, fewer Treasuries are being issued to put pressure on interest rates. This permits the Fed to make a show of doing the right thing and reduce bond purchases. As a weakening economy becomes apparent as the year progresses, calls for the Fed to support the economy will permit the Fed to broaden the array of instruments that it purchases.

A strategic explanation for tapering is that the growth of US debt and money creation is causing the world to turn a jaundiced eye toward the US dollar and toward its role as world reserve currency.

Currently the Russian Duma is discussing legislation that would eliminate the dollar’s use and presence in Russia. Other countries are moving away from the dollar. Recently the Nigerian central bank reduced its dollar reserves and increased its holdings of Chinese yuan. Zimbabwe, which was using the US dollar as its own currency, switched to Chinese yuan. The former chief economist of the World Bank recently called for terminating the use of the dollar as world reserve currency. He said that “the dominance of the greenback is the root cause of global financial and economic crises.” Moreover, the Federal Reserve is very much aware of the flight away from the dollar into gold, because it is this flight that causes the Fed to manipulate the gold price in order to hold it down and in order to be able to free up gold for delivery.

The Fed knows that the ability of the US to pay its bills in its own currency is the reason it can stand its large trade imbalance and is the basis for US power. If the dollar loses the reserve currency role, the US becomes just another country with balance of payments and currency problems and an inability to sell its bonds in order to finance its budget deficits.

In other words, perhaps the Fed understands that a dollar crisis is a bigger crisis than a bank crisis and that its bailout of the banks is undermining the dollar. The question is: will the Fed let the banks go in order to save the dollar?

That last paragraph contains the possible coming financial crisis in a nutshell:

“The question is:  will the Fed let the banks go in order to save the dollar?”

With all of that in mind,  recall the following quoted threat from ValeriEVIL Jarrett:

QUOTE:

“After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.”

She certainly wasn’t talking about radical Islam enemies. She was talking about those who voted for Romney in the 2012 election, because those Americans OPPOSED what BHO was doing to America.

pay·back  [pey-bak]  Show IPA

noun

1.the period of time required to recoup a capital investment.

2. the return on an investment: a payback of 15 percent tax-free.

3. the act or fact of paying back; repayment.

4. something done in retaliation: a really vicious payback for years of being snubbed.

The term “payback” can mean several things, and I think that conservatives have already faced such threats via the IRS Scandal, the NSA targeting Scandal, and all the propaganda being spewed against conservatives and their beliefs via the Media of Mass Deception which takes it’s Socialist marching orders from the ObaMARXIST BADministration.

I have been posting occasionally here for about 18 months or so. I am NOT using the ID I normally use for this post because that ID contains some personal identifiers that would be instantly recognized by those closest to me and because I’m about to disclose some contents of a confidential conversation I just had with a senior family member.
I simply don’t know where else to post this…
Yesterday afternoon I tweeted said senior family member — a recently-retired and still well-connected senior officer in our armed forces — the Drudge tweet from the day before that simply read “Have an exit plan…” I asked him what he thought that meant.
VERY uncharacteristically, he didn’t immediately respond… For 36 hours.
About 2 hours ago, as I was driving home from work, he called me.
The conversation started off as usual – questions about the kids, wife, and work – mundane stuff. He is a man of few words and doesn’t like talking on the phone. And that’s where it got weird…
He started asking me questions he has never asked before. How are we financially; cash on hand? Am I prepared for a major natural disaster? Even how many rounds of ammo I have stockpiled (a shit-load). And would I be prepared to react to a situation that was impossible to foresee IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. War College stuff.
I asked him if he had something specific to tell me. He said “no”. I asked him if it was “no” you couldn’t or “no” you won’t…? Just “no”.
Then the million dollar question: is this related to the Drudge tweet I sent him? And then the bomb dropped…
Yes.
Then he did something he’s NEVER done before – after numerous, sometimes profanity-laced, entreaties for the old goat to stop being so cryptic, he hung up on me.
That’s it.
Do what you want with this…

Something BIG must be afoot.   With Drudge’s cryptic tweet, the falling stock market lately, all of the information about global financial woes and manipulations in the Commieblaster links; as well as the disturbing comment above that shared  a “senior member of her family” asked, “do you have cash on hand” and “are you prepared for a major natural disaster;” sadly tells us a lot about how this America hating BADministration will give the ones who opposed them “what they deserve.”

Be prepared, and be in prayer, people.

Ted Cruz and Mike Lee lg

Two heroes who are willing to stand up against the DC machine and stand up for We The People!

I don’t like to talk about BHO here at my new blog.  But when the State of the Union propaganda circus happens, I feel that I must write and expose it.

Did you watch BHO’s boring speech last night?  My husband and I tried to.  But he got up and left the room after just 5 minutes of BHO’s blathering.  I sat on my computer reading email and looking at blog posts while enduring the background noise of BHO’s voice on TV.  But then, the dogs needed to go out.  It was a welcome relief to leave the room for a while.

Fox News had great follow-up; especially when Frank Luntz shared what his focus group of Dems and Republicans had to say about the liar-in-chief.  Also, when the dials were shown of Republicans, Independents and Democrats, they ALL WENT DOWN to  the low 30’s level when BHO finally brought up [40 minutes into speech] his horrid BHOscare Hellcare!  This revealed that even ordinary American Democrats hate this awful legislation!!  It’s too bad that they didn’t research how bad it would be before the last election.  The mid-term elections will be here in November.  I think that it will be a tsunami wipe-out of Dems who voted for the crappy bill!

I had to chuckle when I read Matt Walsh’s blog headline this morning:

The Matt Walsh Blog

For the love of God, can we just abolish the State of the Union Address  already?
Excerpt:

It’s only in recent times that the State of the Union has become this sickening pageant of Washingtonian self-worship.

If you aren’t offended by it, you aren’t paying attention.

I’ve felt this way for a while, but never have my feelings been more pronounced than tonight. President Obama — after a year chock full o’ scandals, corruption, ineptitude, and failure — made his WWE-style entrance into the House chamber. He shook hands with the sycophants crowding the aisle, and soaked in the glow of a thunderous, fantastically undeserved applause.

Then he stood before them and lied, and they applauded. And he cited dozens of clichéd and fabricated anecdotes, and they applauded. And he repeated promises he’s already broken 5 times (example: “this needs to be the year we… close Guantanamo Bay!”), and they applauded. And he made plainly absurd statements about imaginary “gender wage gaps,” and they applauded. And he constructed fallacious straw men, and they applauded.

The State of the Union Address was indistinguishable from something you’d hear at a DNC convention. It was a political pep rally, which is all it’s been for many years. Only at this pep rally he has uniformed military on hand as stage props, and the entire body of Congress sitting by with their tongues wagging, ready to jump and bark like trained dogs.

It’s all really quite disgusting.

There’s nothing worthwhile  about any of it. At best, it’s an irrelevant and superficial exercise in talking point recitation. At worst, it’s a monarchical demonstration of arrogance and elitism. [click on link above to read it all.]

I like how Greg Gutfeld of Fox News’ “The Five” show described the people who would be lining up on either side of the entry route. He called them “poodles” – you know – the lapdog sycophant photo-op Dems from the House and Senate who shake hands with the liar of the year as he walks towards the podium. I didn’t check yet, but I doubt that the Dem Congressmen/women or Senators who are up for re-election in red states appeared in the tail-wagging poodle line-up. In fact, there have been news reports that when BHO is going to be in their specific states campaigning (which seems to be the ONLY thing he knows how to do!) and bloviating about some non-accomplishment; such [bad] law-makers beat feet out of there so that they don’t have to appear with their former buddy who has been exposed as a big liar –  and who continues to ruin health care for millions of Americans.

Another great article today was found over at The Last Refuge blog:

The Last Refuge

Ted Cruz Op-Ed “The Imperial Presidency of Barack Obama”
Copy of post and excerpt of article:
In the nation’s history, there is simply no precedent for an American president so wantonly ignoring federal law…

TED CRUZ – Of all the troubling aspects of the Obama presidency, none is more dangerous than the president’s persistent pattern of lawlessness, his willingness to disregard the written law and instead enforce his own policies via executive fiat. On Monday, Mr. Obama acted unilaterally to raise the minimum wage paid by federal contracts, the first of many executive actions the White House promised would be a theme of his State of the Union address Tuesday night.

The president’s taste for unilateral action to circumvent Congress should concern every citizen, regardless of party or ideology. The great 18th-century political philosopher Montesquieu observed: “There can be no liberty where the legislative and executive powers are united in the same person, or body of magistrates.” America’s Founding Fathers took this warning to heart, and we should too.

Rule of law doesn’t simply mean that society has laws; dictatorships are often characterized by an abundance of laws. Rather, rule of law means that we are a nation ruled by laws, not men. That no one—and especially not the president—is above the law. For that reason, the U.S. Constitution imposes on every president the express duty to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”

Yet rather than honor this duty, President Obama has openly defied it by repeatedly suspending, delaying and waiving portions of the laws he is charged to enforce. When Mr. Obama disagreed with federal immigration laws, he instructed the Justice Department to cease enforcing the laws. He did the same thing with federal welfare law, drug laws and the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

On many of those policy issues, reasonable minds can disagree. Mr. Obama may be right that some of those laws should be changed. But the typical way to voice that policy disagreement, for the preceding 43 presidents, has been to work with Congress to change the law. If the president cannot persuade Congress, then the next step is to take the case to the American people. As President Reagan put it: “If you can’t make them see the light, make them feel the heat” of electoral accountability.

President Obama has a different approach. As he said recently, describing his executive powers: “I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone.” Under the Constitution, that is not the way federal law is supposed to work.

The Obama administration has been so brazen in its attempts to expand federal power that the Supreme Court has unanimously rejected the Justice Department’s efforts to expand federal power nine times since January 2012. […]

That would be wrong—and it is the Obama precedent that is opening the door for future lawlessness. As Montesquieu knew, an imperial presidency threatens the liberty of every citizen. Because when a president can pick and choose which laws to follow and which to ignore, he is no longer a president. (continue reading)

The only good thing that happened last night was the thundering and long applause for Army Ranger Cory Remsburg!

However, it is unfortunate that those who lost their lives and were injured at the Fort Hood terrorist massacre were not given such honor as well. In fact, one of the survivors who was shot 7 times and lived (but one bullet remains inside him) appeared on Fox News and stated his dismay that Nidal Hassan’s murderous rampage wasn’t given the proper description of TERRORIST ATTACK. Lunatic Eric Holder unbelievably labeled it as “workplace violence.” That still makes my blood boil with contempt towards the worst AG in American history! The long list of grievances against him might challenge the long list of BHO’s crimes!

When I get angry about all the harm being done to our nation and people because of this horrible administration, I pick up my Bible and read.

Pro 29:2

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Pro 21:7

The violence of the wicked will destroy them, [fn]
Because they refuse to do justice.

Pro 24:25

But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight,
And a good blessing will come upon them.

Psa 1:5

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Psa 1:6

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Isa 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Who are the righteous?

Rom 10:3

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

Rom 10:4

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Rom 10:8

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” [fn] (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

Rom 10:9

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 10:10

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:11

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” [fn]

Jhn 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Alone Yet Not Alone

January 23, 2014

Any normal, sane and gracious person here in the United States of America would think that a song that was sung and recorded for a movie by a handicapped woman (who happens to be a quadriplegic  in a wheelchair) and was included for the Best Song category of the Oscar nominations; would be celebrated by all people nationwide.

But no!

The radical leftist lunatic anti-Christian bigots  in Hollyweird, as well as the political activist Christian HATERS here in America end up complaining because of the content of the song?  It happens to be a Christian-themed song with the same title from the movie, “Alone Yet Not Alone.”

Apparently, it doesn’t matter that the independent Christian film just happened to be the number one film in several areas across the country back in October, 2012!

Excerpt:

Last weekend, “Alone Yet Not Alone,” an independent film with Christian themes from Enthuse Entertainment, took Hollywood by storm during its limited release debut, topping all films nationwide in per-theater ticket sales. It was the No. 1 movie for theaters in Knoxville, Tenn.; Raleigh, N.C.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; and San Antonio, Texas. It was the No. 2 film in Dallas, Atlanta and Nashville area theaters. Grossing $13,396 per theater, “Alone Yet Not Alone” was actually the nation’s No. 1 film in box office sales per screen. By comparison, the nation’s top-grossing film overall (showing in far more theaters), “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” made only $8,439 per screen. Now Enthuse is announcing “Alone Yet Not Alone,” based on the true story of a frontier family caught in the throes of the French and Indian War in 1755, will extend its limited theatrical run until Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in all nine cities where it made its debut. A nationwide release is set for Feb. 21, 2014 across 150 cities. Click here for tickets to see “Alone Yet Not Alone.” The movie is based a novel of the same name written by Tracy Leininger Craven, which tells the struggles of her ancestors in the mid-1700s when British and French forces were fighting for control of the American continent. The Leiningers, immigrants from Germany who sought freedom to worship in the New World, began to carve out their homestead farm around Penns Creek at the outskirts of western Pennsylvania. Despite the arduous work, the Leiningers labor joyfully, nourished by God’s promises, which they memorize during their daily reading of the cherished family Bible. Then the unthinkable happens: In a terrifying raid, Delaware warriors kidnap the two young Leininger daughters, Barbara and Regina, taking them captive hundreds of miles away and adopting them into their native culture. Yet through their captivity and eventual escape they never lose hope and “their faith becomes their freedom.”

Of course, the Christian haters in Hollyweird have to criticize this particular selection.  Why?  Probably because of bigotry against ANYTHING Christian!

WND has the story:

All hell breaks loose over Christian Oscar nod

Hollywood warned of hypocrisy for raging against nomination

Excerpt:

Like David versus Goliath, an upstart Christian film has shocked the world by winning an unlikely victory in the form of an Academy Award nomination.

Only this time, the crowds aren’t cheering for David.

Instead, mainstream-media Oscar watchers across the nation have blasted the Academy for choosing the hymn-like testament to God’s presence over hits by pop artists like Jay-Z and Taylor Swift.

“I can’t figure any of this s— out,” an unnamed competitor told the Hollywood Reporter, or THR, after learning his or her song was beaten out by “Alone Yet Not Alone,” the title song from the faith-themed movie of the same name.

“It is difficult to understand why ‘Alone Yet Not Alone’ snagged an Oscar nomination over more acclaimed and high-profile competitors,” THR remarked, claiming multiple people whose songs were snubbed by Academy’s music branch wonder how “a song that has been heard by virtually no one outside the branch from a film that hardly anyone has seen” secured an Oscar nomination.

Across the country, dozens of Hollywood-watching publications were quick to heap criticism on “Alone Yet Not Alone.”

The Wire called the song “the year’s most WTF [what the f—] Oscar nominee,” and Ty Burr of Boston Globe penned a blog post about “Alone Yet Not Alone” titled “The Oscar nomination that stinks to heaven.”

“Its inclusion is questionable, and evidence that strides still need to be made when it comes to the Oscar song field,” reads a particularly pointed criticism from the Los Angeles Times.

NewNowNext, a division of Viacom’s LGBT channel LogoTV called it “a clunky song from an obscure Christian movie score” and blasted the movie for having an “anti-gay connection” because of endorsements from Rick Santorum and James Dobson, among others.

“It’s crammed with sappy Christian aphorisms,” writes NewNowNext’s Dan Avery of the song, “and over-produced to within an inch of its life.”

But it’s not as though the song has no pedigree nor business securing a nomination.

As WND reported, “Alone Yet Not Alone” was performed by Christian author, singer and speaker Joni Eareckson Tada and was written by Dennis Spiegel and Bruce Broughton, who had already received an Academy Award nomination for his score for “Silverado” and who boasts nine Emmy Awards for his musical compositions on television.

“Songs are highly subjective,” explains George D. Escobar, who served as a producer, co-director and co-writer on the film “Alone Yet Not Alone.” “The fact that some people do not like it is perfectly reasonable and acceptable. Others absolutely love the song.

“Comparing ‘Alone Yet Not Alone’ against the popularity of other Oscar contenders is natural. But we should also compare it to the message it conveys,” he continued. “It’s the only song that is about God’s faithfulness during our times of affliction and persecution. Most of the other songs are about rebellion and self-reliance. Isn’t it nice to have some contrast in the marketplace?”

Escobar also warned critics to beware masking another motive in criticizing the nomination of “Alone Yet Not Alone.”

“It shouldn’t matter whether this movie is a ‘Christian film’ or not. That’s equivalent to someone criticizing another movie for being a ‘black film’ or a ‘white film.’ It’s hypocritical to impose a double-standard like that,” Escobar said. “I would ask audiences and critics to give the song fair consideration for its intent within the movie and how it supports the story being told. That’s a key eligibility criteria from the Academy itself.”

Eareckson Tada told THR she’s delighted and surprised her song has been given this honor.

“I’m the least likely candidate to record a song for a movie, I’ll tell you that up front, so it’s amazing,” Eareckson Tada said. “It’s amazing enough that a family-friendly movie with a Christian theme is nominated in any category for an Academy Award. Besides ‘The Blind Side,’ which was wonderful, it’s just not the norm.”

Eareckson Tada, who has been a quadriplegic since a diving accident when she was 17, has no professional training as a singer, and her accident has left her with just half the lung capacity of what it ought to be. In fact, THR reports, her husband needed to push on her diaphragm while she recorded the Oscar-nominated song to give her enough breath to hit the high notes.

“This is such an out-of-left-field thing,” she said. “The God of the Bible delights in using ill-equipped, unskilled and untrained people in positions of great influence, everyone from Joseph to David. It’s all to show that it’s not by human prowess or brassiness, but all by God’s design. I don’t know if that’s what he’s doing here, but it’s worth giving pause and considering.”

Joni Eareckson Tada was very gracious on hearing the news of the song’s nomination.  She gives the praise to God, and says “it’s worth giving pause and considering” as to how an “ill-equipped, unskilled, and untrained person” (meaning, herself), could be put in a position of great influence.  She ascribes it as being “all by God’s design.”

Now, let’s read one portion of the article again:

Eareckson Tada, who has been a quadriplegic since a diving accident when she was 17, has no professional training as a singer, and her accident has left her with just half the lung capacity of what it ought to be. In fact, THR reports, her husband needed to push on her diaphragm while she recorded the Oscar-nominated song to give her enough breath to hit the high notes.

I just shake my head in disbelief because of the unnecessary vitriol being directed at this woman, song, and film!

However, God is good and His Will be done in all things!

Perhaps the movie will make such a huge impact throughout America when it is released nationwide in June, 2014, that all we have been praying for regarding the return to what our beloved country was built upon will come to fruition!  Wouldn’t that be great?

Nonetheless, we believers are prepared and ready for the Lord Jesus Christ’s promised return!  Whether it be this year or any other time in the future, we praise His Holy Name!

Beware When Today’s Media Calls Someone, “America’s Pastor.”

January 14, 2014

H/T for graphic:  missionventureministries

When Bible truths are being distorted, it is important for Christian believers to speak up and point out such errors.  Recently, I caught a segment on the Fox and Friends show on The Fox News Channel where Rick Warren appeared with three co-authors of a new book called, “The Daniel Plan.”  I will get to what that “plan” is all about in a moment.

First, I must share that I had noticed years ago that Pastor Warren’s teachings were leading towards error.   It all began when I (as well as two other Bible study leaders) noticed that Rick Warren’s prayer of salvation was missing something very crucial!   As the years went on, I noticed his wishy-washy attitude towards the CA Proposition 8 (marriage is the union of one man and one woman) debate, and his non-biblical stance on other issues, so I wrote about them.  IMHO, Warren REALLY went off the deep end, once again, by embracing Chrislam (a form of melding Christianity with Islam).

I must start off by saying that I was deeply saddened to learn of the Warren’s son (who battled depression most of his life) committing suicide last year.  In fact, his son’s suicide was so heartbreaking (as any loss of a child would be to his/her parents!!!) that Warren stated on the Fox and Friends show that he couldn’t sleep for six months and gained a lot of weight.  This was one of the reasons he and his co-authors wrote the new diet book, “The Daniel Plan.”

Well, I’ve got some bad news about that book and it’s co-authors.

Today, in my email inbox I got a notification about a post from a blog I follow called Muddy Streams. The link at the end of the post explains, in great detail, why these four men and their book should be avoided by Bible-based Christian followers of Jesus Christ.

Here is a copy of the post, in its entirety:

Question: Why are you and other “discernment” writers so critical of Rick Warren and his new Daniel Plan?

Question : Why are you and other “discernment” writers so critical of Rick Warren and his new Daniel Plan? What difference does it make that Rick Warren turns to some of the best secular doctors in the nation to help the church with its battle over obesity, physical fitness, and mental health? After all, Christians don’t have to ensure that their cars are repaired only by Christian mechanics, and their toilets unstopped only by Christian plumbers. If you’ve got a problem with your physical body, isn’t it far more important to have the very best doctor’s advice, regardless of their religious background?

Response:  As long as one’s mechanic or plumber isn’t incorporating un-biblical spiritual content in his service to a believer, his religious background shouldn’t be a problem. However, that is not the case with the eminent doctors that Rick Warren has selected to minister to his congregation and those hundreds of thousands who follow his ministry. All three of the medical doctors are practitioners of various forms of Eastern mystical meditation and occultism, which they promote in their well-being programs of body, mind, and spirit. No doubt their medical science education gives them valuable insights into the workings of their patients’ bodies, but what of mind and spirit? The mind is not the brain; it’s part of man’s nonphysical makeup. There is no objective science of mind. There is only the metaphysical kind. There is no objective science of the spirit. There are no scientific instruments for evaluating a person’s spirit. It’s purely a subjective religious matter.

Furthermore, your question reflects the religious pragmatism (“whatever works”) that leads many believers to abandon biblical authority, compromise their faith, supplant the gospel, and even endanger their very lives. The journey of departing from the Truth may not begin with such stark choices, but often ends with tragic spiritual consequences. “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump” (Gal:5:9A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.).

In reality, however, your question presents a textbook-perfect “straw man” argument–defined as “creating the illusion of having refuted a proposition by substituting it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition…without ever having actually refuted the original position.” In this case, you are comparing the evaluation and repair of a physical object, such as an automobile or toilet, to the diagnosis and prescription for human beings, with regard to their physical as well as mental and spiritual health. As followers of Christ, we should indeed be convinced (and convicted) of our need to care for our physical bodies, all the while recognizing that they are temples of the Spirit of God (1 Cor:3:  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?). As Paul explained to Timothy, “Bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come” (1 Tm 4:8). Attempting to care for our bodies in ways that are antithetical  to God’s Word is sinning against our Creator.

An additional concern over Rick Warren’s latest church marketing campaign has nothing to do with helping believers improve their level of physical fitness (which is understandably connected to emotional health as well). Rather, it is Warren’s boastful claim that The Daniel Plan is nothing short of “God’s Prescription for Your Health,” a statement that must be thoroughly evaluated and challenged.

To begin with, the biblical Daniel wasn’t in need of a diet or program to help him get into top physical shape. To attempt to use him as a spiritual model to motivate Christians to healthy living demonstrates either an ignorance of the Scriptures or a dishonest marketing ploy.

The fact that the three doctors chosen by Warren to implement his church-wide regimen are widely recognized in their field of medical expertise is not in question. What every participant must ask is how the doctors’ personal religious worldviews shape their understanding of the human mind, body, and spirit–and whether or not these extra-biblical worldviews will infect the so-called Daniel Plan’s “prescription” with spiritually dangerous ideas and practices.

Dr. Mehmet Oz was born to first-generation Muslim parents in Cleveland, Ohio. His father’s side of the family embraces Sharia law. Dr. Oz claims to be influenced by Sufism (“whirling dervishes”), a mystical Islamic contemplative practice in which the “adept” spins himself into an altered state of consciousness in order to commune with Allah. Through the influence of his Protestant wife, he adopted some of the teachings of Emmanuel Swedenborg, the founder of a pseudo-Christian cult that denies the Trinity, believes the Last Judgment is past, and teaches that “all who do good from the truth of their own religion” will be accepted into heaven, since “doing good conjoins oneself to God” (http://www.religiousherald.org/index. php?option=com_content&task=view&id=650&Itemid=110). [Note:  Apologies to readers because the link no longer works.  I tried to do a search for the quote but was unable to find it.]

Oz believes hypnosis can and should be used to address emotional and addictive behaviors. One of his secrets to maintaining a calm presence, says Oz, is practicing Transcendental Meditation, of which he is a national spokesperson: “When I meditate, I go to that place where truth lives,” he said. “I can see what reality really is, and it is so much easier to form good relationships.” Oz’s wife, Lisa, is a Reiki Master, a very occult form of deep massage. He praised Reiki as his “favorite treatment that could change the future of medicine forever.” He explained, “It broadens dramatically the spectrum of where we might be able to go in our bodies, and this is the area of energy medicine.” Concluding one episode of his popular TV program, Oz ordered millions of viewers: “Try Reiki!”

Dr. Daniel Amen, another of Rick Warren’s “Daniel Plan” doctors, is founder of the famous Amen Clinic, which purports to diagnose brain-behavior disorders and prescribe dietary, chemical, and meditative treatments. Licensed in both child and adult psychiatry, Amen is an ADHD specialist who practices non-medical treatments, including hypnosis, meditation, relaxation, and eye-movement desensitization. Dr. Amen recommends that everyone should strive to meditate daily for 12 minutes and recommends “an active form of yoga meditation called Kriya Kirtan.” He explains that this Kundalini-based Hindu practice “is based on the five primal sounds: saa , taa , naa , maa , and aa .” (An interesting choice and order of syllables for Christians to “contemplate:” Sa ta na …).

In his bestselling book, Making a Good Brain Great , Amen instructs readers to “write a poem or love letter to your brain” (p. 240). He is also an enthusiastic activist for tantric sex, which is a Hindu practice that incorporates mysticism during intercourse to attain a higher state of pleasure–and divine consciousness. In reality, this ritual behavior invites demons into the marriage bed.

Dr. Mark Hyman is the third member of Rick Warren’s “Daniel Plan” triumvirate. He is the author of: UltraCalm: A Six-Step Plan to Reduce Stress and Eliminate Anxiety . The book presents his “simple, powerful method for generating a peaceful and harmonious state in the body-mind.” Hyman’s “prescription” to achieve this level of “natural healing intelligence” is not even camouflaged in pseudo-scientific language but expressed in outright New Age terminology. His “audio learning program” presents “breathing meditations and visualization exercises for feeling calm, confident, and in good spirits.” (Can you say “contemplative self-hypnosis and self-affirmation”?) On this, he certainly agrees with Dr. Oz and Dr. Amen: that “mind-body medicine…is now the most important medical frontier.” Dr. Hyman’s books are quite popular throughout the New Age and metaphysical community. Our great concern, however, is that they will be featured and promoted wherever The Daniel Plan is taught.

Rick Warren, as a shepherd of thousands of sheep and one who has been called “America’s pastor,” is responsible to the Lord for what he is feeding them. Tragically, he has brought in hirelings (and worse) who will lead his sheep into meditative techniques that are “doctrines of devils” and will open them to direct communication with “seducing spirits” (1 Tm 4:1).

I know what it is like to be subjected to a false religion’s mind-body metaphysical and meditative techniques. I once attended a yoga session with two non-Christians. The instructor actually made the claim that our yoga group was “inviting in the spirits” as she put her hands together in a traditional Christian prayer sign. Well, that is when I stopped participating. I opened my eyes and sat there until the session was over. I was NOT going to participate in something that I did not believe in, and I was certainly not going to follow her “command” to “invite the spirits” into my mind, body or soul!

I know. Many people would think this is harmless. Well, I don’t think so! ANYTHING that claims to “invite the spirits in” when you don’t know what kind or type of spirits they are referring to, is trouble.

The Bible instructs us:

1Jo 4:1

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Dear readers…this isn’t an insignificant  matter!!!

Unfortunately, Rick Warren and his band of co-authors have fallen towards deceiving spirits.  Let this be a warning to all who read this post!

1Ti 4:1

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,*

The Accuracy of Bible Prophecy

January 7, 2014

Recently, I was watching a program on Bible Prophecy.  There is a lot of ground to cover regarding the prophecies discussed in the segment, but today I will share one prophecy that was fulfilled with stunning accuracy.

Nehemiah 2:5-18** discusses the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem.  This was written in March 14, 445 BC.  Daniel 9:25 gives us the details on which date Jesus would be presented as the Messiah.  It is the only time that He presented himself in public as King.  Jesus entered Jerusalem triumphantly, riding on a donkey (another prophecy fulfillment**) which is known as Palm Sunday today.

Daniel 9:25

Dan 9:25

“Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The streetfn shall be built again, and the wall,fn Even in troublesome times.

(9:25) Or open square
(9:25) Or moat

These are 69 weeks of years.

*  1 week  7 years

*  360 days in ancient calendar years

69 weeks x 7 years/weeks x 360 days/year = 173,880 days.

Jesus entered Jerusalem and was presented as the Messiah on April 6, 32 AD

This was exactly 173,880 days from the Daniel prophecy of March 14, 445 BC!

This prophecy was so accurate that skeptics claimed that Daniel must have been written at the time of Christ.  However, the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 revealed that Daniel was written centuries before the time of Jesus!

Today, IMHO, we don’t even need to look at history to substantiate Bible Prophecy.  Just look at the evening news.
